Job Description

The Marketing Manager position is within the Global Finance Division of Informa Connect, the world’s leading organiser of physical and virtual events in sectors such as finance and life sciences.

Informa Connect is part of Informa, a FTSE 100 media company.

Reporting into the Portfolio Marketing Manager, the Marketing Manager helps drive the marketing for of physical and virtual events for several market-leading brands including SuperReturn, FundForum, GAD and GAIM Ops.

The Marketing Manager helps formulate the marketing strategy and manage its execution through a variety of digital channels.

With a focus on generating bookings for paying delegates, as well as lead generation for VIP attendees and event sponsorship.

Job Summary :

  • Utilising email design best practice and our Tone of Voice’ copywriting principles and an effective contact strategy to maximise email marketing conversions
  • Managing own PPC campaigns on some events and working with external agency for larger campaigns
  • Marketing through industry websites and publications
  • Working with sponsors and speakers to expand further the reach of the event
  • Balancing SEO and Tone of Voice’ copywriting principles on event websites. Whilst making the event website experience richer and helping drive conversions through layout, landing pages, video and other visual assets.
  • Eliciting customer insights and incorporate them into ongoing campaigns
  • Creating customer focused, consistent messaging and compelling value propositions, factoring in the unique benefits associated with virtual and physical products
  • Helping segment our audience for enhanced targeting, messaging and response levels
  • Using analytical tools with tailored reports from such as PowerBi, Adestra, Google Analytics and our internal database system to help drive new initiatives
  • Help produce event-related videos with a variety of internal and external resources
  • Liaising with designers to maximise the visual appeal of our digital assets
  • Working with our content mktg and social media team to use industry content on our online community homes to help drive audience and conversions.
  • Helping build database with responsive names
  • Monitoring schedules / deadlines during all phases of the campaigns
  • Contributing to and driving new projects and initiatives
  • Keeping up to date with current digital trends
  • Working with a variety of product, sales, marketing and ops colleagues to ensure a cohesive and successful team-based approach
  • Qualifications

  • Ideally at least 1-year working in a marketing role with hands-on experience of the key digital marketing channels
  • Marketing experience in the events industry is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong copywriting skills and eye for design
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to see and focus on what has the biggest impact on audience growth, revenues and / or profitability
  • Have exceptional organisational and time-management skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and ability to demonstrate creativity with impactful results
