Salary : £34,304 £50,296 per annum

Role responsibilities : these will involve facilitating learning across different modes, including classroom, web-based media and in clinical settings.

There is an expectation of pastoral support for students, academic assessment and the supervision of student projects. You may also be required to undertake module leadership / specific project leadership as appropriate.

Applicants : Need to be a NMC Registered Nurse in Mental Health Nursing. You will be a graduate and have recent experience of dealing with student nurses either in a Higher Education Institution or in clinical practice.

You will have demonstrable ability to work within a team and possess effective communications skills. A post-graduate qualification in a relevant area is desirable.

A teaching qualification or willingness to undertake one will be essential.

    Job Purpose :

  • To teach and support students by adopting a learner-centred approach and being committed to contributing towards delivery of a first class student experience.
  • To be a team-player and contribute to the wider work of the department.
  • Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role :

  • With support to design and deliver high quality, innovative and challenging learning experiences, using current theory and practice together in lively debate.
  • With support to undertake associated activities in connection with the courses taught including, personal tutoring, recruitment, assessment, review and evaluation.
  • To contribute to the student experience demonstrating an awareness of the need for customer focus’ in respect of resolving issues.
  • To conduct research and scholarly activity of relevance to the lecturing role and / or professional practice and aligns own research with teaching and learning.
  • To engage with business and professional networks to promote teaching and learning and research in a professional context.
  • To contribute to open days, school, college and partnership links and the promotional work of the department.
  • To support students in supervising placements, learning in practice, internships and work-related activities.
  • To deliver pastoral care and project supervision of students.
  • With support to plan and deliver the curriculum using appropriate media, including the use of IT.
  • To provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students, which promotes improvement of performance.
  • To engage in professional development activities (e.g. CPD, attendance at conferences) relating to teaching, learning and assessment.
  • To maintain and foster the high reputation of the University in practice partner settings.
  • Any other such reasonable duties as required by the Head of School / Associate Head of School.
