The Commercial Contracts Manager position shall possess a deep understanding of both the contractual legal and business roles that are necessary in commercial contracting in the aviation, automotive and general automation industrial markets.
This position will be responsible for evaluating, developing, facilitating, negotiating and maintaining commercial, international, and domestic contracts.
This position requires a principled understanding of contract terms, business risk, contract financial margins, timely revenue recognition, meeting profitability objectives, and ensuring the successful execution of contract performance.
This role will report into the L3 Security & Detection Systems, Vice President & General Counsel with a dotted a day to day reporting line into the Sales and Marketing Director covering the following business activities and locations, Luton, Droitwich, Essex and will also support L3 Security & Detection Systems U.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Experience with all aspects of international, commercial, and domestic contracting
Negotiate a variety of complex commercial transactions including sales, procurement and other contractual agreements
Provide timely evaluation, solution-based business & contractual advice and guidance and propose mitigation strategies to all levels of management
Actively participate in contract negotiations with foreign governments, multi-national companies, distributors, and business partners
Assist management and functional departments with general contracts, 3rd party agreements, and vendor / supplier relationships when called upon
Ability to effectively resolve issues both internally and with external customers and business partners
Effectively present information to senior management; ability to draft letters and correspondences as needed
Develop strong interface and collaborative relationships with all functions and teams needed as legal business and commercial contracts expert
Knowledge of Intellectual Property rights
Knowledge of NEC Engineering and Construction Contracts
Knowledge of Orgalime, MF / 1, JCT and other similar contracts
FCPA and UK Bribery Act working knowledge and understanding
Ability to research subject matters that either directly or indirectly affect the group of companies and summarizing the research and their effects
Perform a function that supports corporate governance and regulatory matters
Ability to provide a strategy on the implications of business and regulatory issues
Protect the group of company’s legal interests and maintain compliance with established laws
Must possess excellent written verbal and presentation communication skills
Strong collaborative, interpersonal, analytical, and attentions to detail skills are a necessity
Experience with setting priorities and with working in a fast-paced environment that is deadline driven, detailed oriented, and must have the ability to handle a multitude of tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
Proven Licensed Solicitor with 5 8 years international industrial commercial contracting experience
Preferred industries, Automotive, Aviation, Construction, Process, Infrastructure
Outstanding ethical conduct, strategic thinker, strong business acumen, proven time management skills, and demonstrated leadership skills
University Degree in law with expertise in Contract Law
