About the Role

The Category General Manager is responsible for planning, building and overseeing the implementation of the total brand and category strategy for their category and portfolio of brands.

They will be the leading person in striving to create the best brands in the world. The role will be based full time in our Manchester office, reporting into the CEO of the Beauty Brands division.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, building and executing the category strategy, producing a brand positioning and growth strategy for each brand.
  • Driving P&L growth in collaboration with the finance team, reviewing all lines of the P&L for improvements across sales, GP, distribution costs and fulfilment efficiencies to improve EBITDA position.
  • Oversee brand development and new product development to ensure our brands stay competitive in the market and own a distinct space in our customers’ minds.
  • Driving performance and strategy across branding, online sales, retail sales and marketing channel performance
  • Working closely with the Marketing Director to ensure a best-in-class digital experience
  • Formally reporting results to the senior executive team.
  • Actively monitor and identify new market entry opportunities and pursue these opportunities to drive incremental sales for the business.
  • Building and leading a strong team who are all invested in the visions of THG and the brand portfolio to create the world’s leading brands.
  • Giving clear guidance to team members ensuring quarterly objectives are set and monitored and continuous feedback is given to team to aid their development
  • KPI’s

  • Regular reporting of brand performance from top-line through to site and marketing channel specific performance and actively driving improvements in any underperforming areas.
  • Sales and GP growth targets
  • COS targets and free channel mix improvements

  • Requirements

  • Resilient and driven individual who wants to drive forward a vision and future growth for their brand portfolio
  • Top tier ecommerce experience within a fast paced, dynamic organisation
  • Proven experience of delivering online sales growth for a reputable brand
  • Experience of accountability and management of a large P&L
  • Experience in growing a team and developing talent
  • Excellent communicator able to give clarity and set direction
  • Commercial awareness of the beauty industry
