Caledonian Produce is based in Bo'ness, Scotland and employs over 1,100 people. It is one of eight factories that are part of the Bakkavor Salads sector in the UK.
This is a people leadership role and your responsibilities are centred on leading your team so that they are fully engaged.
Working within a fast-paced environment within a high performing team you will be managing across two shift teams with direct responsibility of 2 Shift Managers.
You will have daily interaction with the stores and process teams.
The role needs someone who has a knowledge of H&S with risk assessments and accident investigation with the ability to put together work plans for the teams.
It is essential that you have HACCP experience and an awareness of KPIs.
The ideal candidate will be working in a manufacturing (preferably food) environment with strong experience of people management.
Health & Safety - To pro-actively manage to ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees in the operation and that as a minimum the operation meets the standards set out in the Group Health & Safety policy.
Quality Standards - To lead and drive standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and housekeeping within your area through Good Manufacturing Practice (G.
M.P.) to ensure that both Business and customer standards are kept and audit requirements are fully met.
Performance Management - To appropriately manage the performance of all teams members including section managers through the use of Bakkavör performance management systems (i.
e. appraisal) and, if necessary, to impose disciplinary sanctions in accordance with Company policy through to dismissal stage.
Training & Development - To own the training & development of all levels of team including managers. Actively coach, develop, recruit and train team members to the required level of competence to encourage continuous improvement within the business.
NPD Process manages the NPD process within their area of responsibility to ensure that all trials run successfully and through to product launch
Performance Improvement through the use of KPIs Challenges and introduces new KPIs to drive performance. Ensures Team delivers agreed KPIs across the operation Ensuring systems are in place to collect the necessary data to measure performance against the agreed KPIs.
Develops and implements PIPs and identifies areas for improvement.
Communication Manages the communication process in their area to ensure that the workforce in their area is well informed on relevant business news and to encourage effective cross-
functional links and that channels of communication are clear and available.
Resource Management - Plan, organise and measure labour and material requirements within their area to ensure that both short-
and long- term agreed targets are met.
Recruitment - Involvement in the selection process for direct reports and all staff within their area to ensure that the necessary skills are in place at all levels.
Responsible for the supervision and coaching of Section Managers.
