Cobham Antenna Systems are looking for an Configuration Manager. Note this is a stand alone role with no direct reports.

The role is to be able to set up, configure and roll out configuration management process and tools across the Antennas Business Unit.

The individual will ensure that there is robust change management process which may be tailored for a variety of governance levels.

The individual will also be apprised of industry best practise in terms of process and tools, and be able to steer the Business appropriately in tool selection, process definition, and adoption, as well as interfacing to ERP systems.

The individual will also support the creation of data repositories and change workflows for projects, including managing the baselines and generating project metric performance.

Based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire Our technology At Cobham Antenna Systems, we design and manufacture active and passive avionics antennas and electronic control systems for military and civil communications, navigation and search and rescue applications.

We pioneered frequency agile VHF tuneable antennas and continue to be a key supplier to major avionics companies. Our GPS anti-

jam technology utilises state of the art DSP algorithms with an active antenna to eliminate both narrow-band and wide-band jamming signals.

We have world leading technology in Ground Penetrating Radar and RF interference mitigation. Both military and civil users rely on our direction finding systems for search and rescue operations.

As a Configuration Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include :

  • Ideally worked on a number of projects in an aerospace product design environment.
  • Desired education and experience includes a Bachelors Degree in an applicable science or engineering discipline, or an equivalent level of experience.
  • The key aspects are :

  • Deep understanding of industry best practise of change management
  • Experience of adoption of PLM and CM tools
  • Experience of interfacing to ERP systems
  • Experience of data control in both design and manufacturing environments for hardware and software items
  • CI selection process
  • An understanding of project lifecycles and lifecycle models
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across functions and businesses
  • As a Configuration Manager your main responsibilities will involve :

    To Provide :

  • Establishment of new tools and process across a multi-site business
  • Continuous improvement of change management process
  • Set up of project databases and support to the generation of metrics
  • Supervise the establishment of baseline declarations
  • Support to Functional and Physical Configuration Audits
  • Document reviews and approvals
  • Management of document repositories and libraries
  • Creation of Configuration Plans and conducting Configuration Reviews
