Roles and Responsibilities

We are now looking for an additional paralegal to support the corporate and commercial Legal Services team as well as supporting Legal Technology.

You will preferably have previous paralegal experience in the area of corporate law.

The role is very varied with no two days the same. You will be required to manage your time well and be able to balance several pieces of work simultaneously, prioritising appropriately to ensure tight deadlines are met.

The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and activities :

  • Running know your client (KYC) checks;
  • Drafting engagement letters;
  • Carrying out company searches and summarising key information in company search reports;
  • Drafting and managing information requests;
  • Drafting Companies Act 2006 related documentation and other documentation (e.g. including board minutes, share transfer documents, shareholder resolutions etc.);
  • Drafting and filing of Companies Act 2006 forms, including hand delivering documents to Companies House where necessary;
  • Working to deliver, oversee and maintain technology projects in the Legal Services team;
  • Oversee all aspects of the project delivery, liaising with external vendors and maintaining internal / external relationships;
  • Operating technology solutions once deployed, to aid and facilitate the completion of client matters, assisting with the initial set up of projects, teaching and any ongoing support needs;
  • Tracking usage and KPIs relating to operational use and governance structure for these technology solutions.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • The applicant will be an individual with legal experience having worked as part of a corporate and / or commercial legal team.
  • The applicant may possibly have an LPC or similar qualification although this is not essential.

  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, being intellectually curious, and having good teamwork and personal skills are essential.

  • In addition, a successful applicant will have the ability to get up to speed quickly on technical matters and be keen to continue developing his / her legal skills and engage in new areas of work.
  • Good relationship building skills and organisation skills are a must along with an ability to communicate effectively with clients, contacts and internal colleagues at all levels as well as excellent written communication skills.
  • Although not required, any experience working with legal technology will certainly hold you in good stead.
