The role in a nutshell
Sr. Product researcher collaborate with cross-functional team of product managers, designers, data analysts, engineers, stakeholders and university students.
This job is to primarily own and drive research projects within UNiLAB from start to finish. Additionally, help with internal company initiatives and product projects outside of UNiLAB.
We are looking for a researcher who is excited about using strategic research to identify what our students and partners want, what problems they are facing, and ensure that our products and services are designed in a way that’s intuitive, relevant, easy to use, and most of all meaningful.
Our product researcher is involved at every stage of the UNiLAB design thinking process from understanding the initial problems our students have, through to evaluation of new concepts and prototypes, right through to the evaluation of products (MLP) post-launch.
Sitting with the Product Experience team with a human-centric approach, research plays a key role in the process of product design and development.
Hence, this position offers a great opportunity to influence product features and strategy.
Day to day responsibilities
Gather insights on students and partners needs using various research methods and provide recommendations for improvement for UNiLAB initiatives
Collect and analyse user behaviours through ethnography, interviews, surveys, benchmark studies, and experiments whether online or within a physical space
Work with designers, product managers, engineers, and other team members to prioritise research opportunities
Understand and incorporate technical and business requirements into research
Advocate research findings to diverse audience through written reports and in-person presentations
Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to make product decisions and contribute to product roadmap
Inform user flows and user scenarios to provide the best human-centric experience
Help in the development of future markets rollouts of UNiLAB
What we need from you
At least 5 years of relevant experience
Experience conducting structured interviews, contextual field studies, user testing either live or remote
Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices
Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Experience in rapid prototyping and usability measurement
Expertise in design thinking and UX fundamentals
Excellent communicator (written and verbal, formal and informal)
Ability to multi-task under pressure and work independently with minimal supervision
Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly develop recommendations based on qualitative and qualitative evidence
Promote human-centric design principles and best practice across UNiLAB and the organisation.
A strong knowledge of Generation Z audience segmentation.
Specialism in anthropology, human factors, psychology, or other related fields
Previous researching experience in innovation lab
