Intertek Pharma Services Manchester (IPSM) has an extensive range of analytical instrumentation and provides analytical services to customers in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, personal care and speciality chemical sectors in a GLP, GCP and GMP regulated laboratory.

As a Scientist you will :

  • Utilise your skillset and knowledge (in all practical aspects of two or more Chromatography techniques such as HPLC (RP, HIC, IEX, HILIC), GC (MS, FID, TCD, ECD) and IC (Ion chromatography) and assessment of drug performance, Bioavailability, Bioequivalence and dissolution to USP 4) to act as an independent member of the team.
  • Act as a lead investigator working across a vast array of projects which will range in scale, scope and timeline.
  • Accountability for becoming a technical reviewer and support with method validation, method optimisation and method development with some guidance
  • Working as an established member of the business providing guidance and support to more junior members of the team and passing on your knowledge and experience.
  • The role is a permanent full-time role based at Hexagon Tower, Blackley, North Manchester where the site offers a variety of on-site amenities including a gym and restaurant.

    ABOUT YOU

  • BSc / MSc / PhD in Chemistry (or related scientific discipline) is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Pharmaceutical with extensive experience using Chromatography techniques for the analysis of chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience, developing and validating appropriate methods for performing assessment of drug performance, Bioavailability, Bioequivalence and dissolution to USP 4.
  • Comprehensive experience of working in a GxP regulatory laboratory with strong understanding of GMP principles.
  • Strong method development and validation experience
  • You should also be able to demonstrate experience training, supervising and coordinating the work of more junior scientists.
  • Good practical laboratory and problem-solving skills
  • Good IT literacy skills
  • Clear written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly convey processes, results and key messages and able to build rapport, quickly and effectively
