We are currently in the process of global IT transformation with several large programmes running and about to start.

We are currently in need of a Global IT Service Continuity Manager to be based in our Royston office on a permanent basis.

This role will work at Group level to design, review and oversee the implementation of Johnson Matthey’s IT Service Continuity Management Policy and Strategy on a global basis.

To be responsible for IT Service Continuity Management, globally and to be the point of escalation during an IT Disaster Recovery invocation following a critical disruption to service.

The IT Service Continuity Manager is responsible for communicating, developing, implementing, maintaining and managing the governance of Johnson Matthey’s IT Service Continuity Management process.

This includes IT Disaster Recovery and IT Continuity for IT Services.

Key responsibilities

To be accountable for Johnson Matthey’s group IT Service Continuity Management Policy and Strategy in alignment with Group Business Continuity Management and JM IT Architecture.

To ensure Johnson Matthey’s IT Service Continuity Management aligns with ISO standards 22301, 27001, the Business Continuity Institute’s Good Practice Guide 2018 and applicable regulatory compliance.

Develop, review and maintain a structured governance programme that meets audit and reporting requirements.

Qualify Legal, Regulatory and Contractual obligations including measurements and create the plan to meet those requirements.

Maintain the system for setting and reviewing the Standards for IT Service Continuity Management and ensure it operates within the Service Level Agreements and Operating Level Agreements.

Ensure a robust and effective backup and restore capability exists to include on-premise and cloud, covering all Johnson Matthey technology platforms including legacy.

To ensure each of Johnson Matthey’s significant sites has a site recovery documentation.

To work at Group level to define, agree and review the Invocation Process and disseminate this to all stakeholders

To ensure that IT Service Continuity Management is embedded in BAU activities such as Change Management and PMO in order to align with changing environments and the maturity of the business

To define the measurement that will be used to check if Johnson Matthey’s IT Service Continuity Management objectives are being achieved.

Ensure that Company Policies, Standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are always adhered to.

  • As a member of the global JM IT community you will be a champion of the function’s values and culture, while demonstrating and openly encouraging the behaviours expected from a professional, best in-class IT team.
  • There may be some out-of-hours working to fit in with time zones for the US and Asia.

    Are you the ideal candidate?

    You will have

    5 10 years’ experience in implementing / managing IT Service Continuity in a FTSE 100

    Demonstrable track record of operating effectively in a dynamic, fast paced, challenging and delivery focused Project / Programme environments containing blended teams (e.

    g. permanent, contract, vendor, SI, Business / IT / operational teams, offshore)

    Familiarity with IT terminology, technical concepts, and DR planning considerations such as backup and recovery, replication, and redundancy.

    Experience in sourcing backup and recovery tools and managed services, such as DRaaS.

    Advanced knowledge, understanding experience with a wide variety of industry standard infrastructure hardware, tools, and software.

    Proven strategic leadership and relationship management capabilities, including experience with internal stakeholders, particularly senior and LOB management, as well as business unit customers and 3rd party service providers.

    Proven ability to work under challenging conditions, such as business-related crises

    Demonstrable experience of planning and executing site-based recovery exercises, achieving Recovery Time Objectives and Recovery Point Objectives.

    Experience in using the BCI GPG 2018 (Framework) and implementing the ISO 22301 (Standards)
