We have a rewarding opportunity for you to join our Transforming Careteam, supporting our brilliant customers to live a fulfilling life in their ownhome within the local community.

Ourteam support our customers who have complexpresentations, which may include, learning disabilities, mental health issues, autism and communicationdifferences, alongside ongoing physical health conditions.

They may also have aforensic background and potential to display behaviours of concern.

The customer that youwill be supporting is a gentleman with a wide range of interests includingsewing, knitting, arts and crafts, electronics, Harry Potter as well as Sci-Fi.

He likes to make his own costumes based on his favourite characters. He’d loveyou to learn more about his hobbies and for you to share them with him! Sometimeshe likes to cook, although he doesn’t always want to do his housework so, withthe help of our Occupational Therapist and yourself, you’ll find innovativeways to encourage him to participate in daily living activities aimed atincreasing his independence.

About our team

You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team of PBS Support Workers, PBSTeam Leaders and Clinical colleagues who are super passionate about supporting ourcustomer to reach his goals and celebrate his achievements.

Alongside your PBS Team Leader’s(we’re currently recruiting to these roles too), you’ll have loads of support onhand from our Kent clinical and management team.

Kerry,our Clinical Registered Manager has loads of experience from working in the NHSand outside of work you’ll find her spending her free time taking walks alongthe beach or on her love for horses.

Lucy,our Deputy Manager, has worked with people with learning disabilities and thosewho communicate differently for over ten years, and she’s also a keen rugbyplayer! You’ll also work alongside Antoniettaour Clinical Psychologist, who will regularly run wellbeing sessions for youand the team, and Wesley our Occupational Therapist who together will help youdesign and deliver a brilliant support package for our customer.

Where you’llwork

You’ll work primarily with our one gentleman customer in his own home inRainham, as well as supporting him in the community.

But there may be opportunities to work with our other customers in Kent! You can use public transport tosupport our customer and we’ll pay your expenses to cover this!

Working hours

Ourcustomer needs support 24 / 7 to meet his needs, so you’ll take your turn on arota which could include working days, evenings, weekends, bankholidays and waking nights.

Youmay also be required to do sleeps ins in which an enhancement will bepaid. As we’re asking you to beflexible for our customer, we’ll also give you the time back that you need tospend time doing the things that matter to you! Our rotas provide the supportneeded in the most flexible way possible.


Lookingfor a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basisby being part of our bank. That way, youcan work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up someadditional shifts to your current role to earn some extra cash.

About you

You’re passionate and motivated to support ourcustomer with any aspect of their day to day living. You’ll impress us withyour ability to work in a person centred, strengths-based and psychologicallyinformed way, supporting your customers to enjoy the best possible quality oflife.

You’llhelp change their life for the better by involving them (and their supportnetwork) in working towards their aspirations and achievements.

You’ll use our exciting new support practice model LIFE’ (Living Independently, Feeling Enabled) to deliver brilliant support byworking closely to develop their own individual LIFE book.

We’ll tell you all aboutit when we meet you! You’ll provide personal care in a strengths based way to facilitategreater independence, as well as use creative solutions, and assistivetechnology where available to support independence.

It’simportant that you have worked in a supported housing environment before, preferablywith people that display behaviours of concern, are willing to provide personalcare and have experience of helping customers to reach their full potential.

Holding a level 2 or equivalent in Health andSocial Care, you’ll have a great understanding of professional boundaries,safeguarding, risk assessment, case management and working with personalisedsupport plans.

It would be great if you have some previousexperience of positive behaviour support, but it’s not a deal breaker.

When youjoin, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure andBarring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if youdon’t have a transferrable one.

You’llbe trained to keep an eye on customer’s mental and physical health, identifyingany signs of deterioration, and take positive risk management to ensure ourcustomers health and wellbeing.
