Organisation Transformation is the largest area within Human Capital. Our vision is to support our clients with their largest, most complex and challenging transformation programmes.
We have teams focused on the Private, Public and Financial Services sectors and are increasingly focused on helping clients with Transformation Journeys’ where digital change, cyber-related challenges or significant capital programme investment is resulting in radical changes to the enterprise-wide operating model.
We also work closely with other parts of Consulting, for example with colleagues who lead on delivering SAP4HANA or other major technology-enabled change into organisations.

About Public Sector
Within Organisation Transformation, we have a thriving Public Sector practice.With growth of over 30% last year, we number nearly 200 people across Public Sector teams in Change, Organisation Design, Programme Leadership and Capital Programmes.
We have a strong community of people who are passionate about making a difference and impact to citizens and public services.
We work across the Public Sector, working closely with colleagues across Consulting and the wider Deloitte firm in accounts and project teams that cover Transport, Security and Justice, Defence, Health and all other parts of central and local government.
We are particularly focused on large-scale transformation programmes, increasingly with an emphasis on programmes that form part of the Government’s Major Project Portfolio and / or have a core digital change component.
We have a strong ambition to significantly increase the size of our teams in Manchester and across the north of England, in line with the government’s emerging regional and industrial strategies, the strengthening role of local and regional government and the ongoing drive to relocate public sector staff and work away from London.
As a Manager your role will have responsibility for bringing your Public Sector, Capital projects and transformation expertise along with broader consulting skills to :
Assisting with the design and development of large capital programmes (including the effective planning and scheduling of work, portfolio management, capability assessments, asset information and reporting, and governance structure and controls)
Managing teams and workstreams including the development of engagement plans, managing critical paths and interdependencies, between workstreams that are implementing change for capital programme organisations including, but not limited to :
Change Management spanning impact and readiness assessment across changes to Processes
Performance reporting, and
Progress reporting, risk management and financial controls in relation to the programme or workstream
The growth of client relationships and contributing to business development materials
The development of our propositions and industry points of view
Mentoring and coaching of teams and team members.
Your responsibilities will flex depending on the size and nature of engagements, expertise within the project team and client requirements.
The Capital Programmes team within Deloitte’s Human Capital Consulting practice works with organisations across capital intensive sectors, who are delivering large, complex capital programmes and managing the operations and maintenance of major infrastructure assets.
The Capital Programmes team will provide you with an opportunity to work across a number of sectors and deploy your experience and insights to help our clients successfully deliver their programmes, manage their operations and maintain their infrastructure assets.

Your home office will be London, but this client-facing role provides lots of opportunity for travel in the UK and overseas.
Work pattern :
This is a permanent contract opportunity. The role can be worked on a full-time basis.
Your professional experience
Proven experience working in one or more capital intensive industries across the private or public sectors; including Transport, Power and Utilities, Defence, Manufacturing and the respective regulators in these sectors
Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering workstreams or projects associated with major capital programmes or managing large infrastructure assets through either working for an organisation operating in one of the above sectors, or for a management consulting or professional services firm
Experience of structuring work and leading teams to successful outcomes, even in highly ambiguous situations
Experience in project management, including development of plans across workstreams and management of critical paths, dependencies, reports and risks in a project
Ability to manage and present to client / stakeholders and develop working relationships at all levels in an organisation
Commercial experience around infrastructure ownership and project delivery (e.g. supply chain challenges, risks and controls, incentivisation) and engagement management (including bidding, performance management etc.)
Experience of contributing to thought leadership, points of view, publications and business strategy
Problem solving, creative thinking and analytical skills
Mentoring, coaching or managing others in project teams and in other parts of the business
Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams, and fast-paced project environments
