The Role

As a leader in payments consulting and the wider financial services team the successful candidate will be expected to lead large payments transformation programs across a wide array of clients

As a Director in the team your time will be divided between leading our go to market activities and associated business development whilst overseeing client facing payments transformations.

From a business development perspective, the role will lead the following :

  • Proactive client network interaction to take the best of KPMG offering to market
  • Lead client responses (RFP / RFI / RFT etc) and client pitches
  • Produce relevant and timely payments thought leadership
  • Shape go to market propositions and strategies
  • With regards to transformation leadership the role will encompass the following :

  • Upward stakeholder management to client executive teams
  • Team leadership and development
  • Transformation planning and execution
  • Commercial management and;
  • a relentless focus on delivery of exception quality outcomes for our clients’ deliverables.
  • People development :

    You will be responsible for leading large, often multi-disciplinary teams, identifying team member development needs and accelerating development with emphasis on managing and mentoring engagement team members, coaching and skills transfer.

    Risk management :

    You will be responsible for identifying and managing delivery and financial risks across projects, engagement assurance and commercial risk management and ensuring the Firm's frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively

    The base location is flexible and can be any of KPMG’s UK offices. Travel within the UK is however an essential part of the role due to the nature of the projects.

    The Person

    Ideally coming from either a Financial Services (FS) organisation or a leading transformation consulting background such as : a consulting firm, SI house, technology innovator or top end boutique provider, the candidate must have some or most of the following recent and relevant experience :

  • Candidates should have excellent Payments knowledge in Banking and across multiple clearing streams / schemes
  • Must have Program leadership experience within the Financial Services sector
  • Proven capability in Payment transformation with experience of technology implementation, product development or regulatory response / compliance
  • Direct experience in core banking technologies or payment orchestration applications
  • Experience of Agile ways of working within an FS environment
  • Experience of FS sales and service process transformation
  • Digital innovation and solution delivery
