We are looking to hire an experienced Field Service Engineer- Digital Pathology who will report to the Field Service Manager for the region.
As a Field Service Engineer at Leica Biosystems you will conduct service and maintenance along with troubleshooting and commissioning of the laboratory instruments in the Leica Biosystems portfolio, including network configuration and implementation of Digital Pathology equipment.
You’ll also need to be readily available to support customers and colleagues in a proactive and timely fashion with the objective of maximising customer satisfaction.
We are looking for professional, motivated, friendly, independent, and technically savvy Engineers who do what it takes to look after our customers and represent our high standards.
The position will be primarily supporting our customers in the Leeds & Harrogate territory with occasional travel into other regions where necessary.
It is expected that the Field Service Engineer Digital Pathology would have the potential to develop technically either broadly as a generalist or product specific as a specialist.
As an alternative, development into other Service or Sales related roles is possible, representing other product groups and / or management responsibility within Leica Biosystems or other Danaher operating companies.
In this role, you’ll
Visit customers to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, fault analysis, and upgrades to achieve optimum customer care and ensure a professional repair in due time with effective and efficient working practices in line with set KPI’s.
On site installation of Digital Pathology equipment, including configuration of network requirements.
Deliver accurate reporting, handling and timely submission of Salesforce reports, Expenses, Spares Stock management and other service documentation.
Work closely with Field Support Team to ensure all customers are provided with an industry leading professional After Sales Service within the KPI’s set by Service Management.
Co-operate closely with and support the sales team with tasks such as basic training for customers, installations, demonstrations and system builds.
Exchange valuable information resulting from customer contacts to increase customer satisfaction and sales / service administration and communication, competent for our clients.
Co-operate closely with Technical Assistance Centre to ensure smooth and fast processes and information flow.
Provide support to end users to maximise customer satisfaction and to build the reputation of the products in the marketplace.
Provide input to the product service specialist to improve reliability and feedback to the Business Unit and other LBS Field Service team.
Contribute to team goals of Customer Satisfaction, Return Call Rate, Preventative Maintenance Planning, Utilisation and Service Financials.
What you’ll need to do the job
Experience in Field Service or a related field preferred.
Understanding of Mechanical, Electronic or Electronical Technology.
Knowledge of network configuration and setup such as firewalls and TCP / IP networking components in a Windows environment.
Experience with Windows Server, VM’s and working knowledge of SQL.
Knowledge of Digital Pathology Integration solutions and software installations advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.
Proven ability to learn in technical areas with limited previous experience.
Proven ability to support IT systems during entire Product Life Cycle
Ability to carry & move up to 25kg safely.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written with ability to communicate across different levels internally and at customer sites.
Positive, upbeat and proactive, able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
