Job Summary The primary objective of the role is to ensure the safe and seamless execution of the project on behalf of the business, in addition to working with project partners and wider stakeholders to unlock development (and benefit) across the site to secure long-term value to Lendlease - protecting and enhancing our bid baseline position.
The Director of Development Project Management is an integral part of the Project Leadership Team helping to shape the strategic direction of the project.
The key accountabilities and ownerships of the role include (but are not limited to) : Ensuring internal project management, execution and control processes are robust and underpinned by clearly documented plans, protocols, strategies and systems and that Lendlease project governance is effectively navigated.

Will ensure adherence to a process that does not allow briefs and design to progress through any gates (brief, planning, sales, leasing, budget price, contract price, practical completion etc.
without being confirmed as deliverable, in line with vision, brief and business plan / commerce. This role represents the disciplined conscience that restores balance to scheme in the conversion and delivery phase, facilitating the resolution of the many competing drivers that pull against the completion of a scheme meeting all of its hurdles.
Developing a consistent operational approach to product / process / people, leveraging the LLD Sector Business Units and balancing the need for efficiencies through prescription with continual improvement and innovation.
Developing the capability and future leaders within the project. The role represents the glue between the visionary Development process and the Construction process.
A champion of transparency must understand the broader development and client / partner context and seek to bring developer / commercial led design and build solutions that serve the wider Lend Lease agenda.
Accountabilities Lead, manage, resource and develop an effective team and ensure an effective DPM capability (DPM, Cost Planning, Technical Management, Program, Commercial Inputs) is in place for the Project, ensuring that the team can adequately, efficiently and consistently deliver against the following accountabilities across the project through conversion and delivery : A key member of the Euston leadership team, making a material contribution to the performance of the business To support the Development objectives & commercial assessment requirements, manage and co-ordinate the specialist, design, cost and pre-construction support services during the conversion phase of a project from its development inception (brief stage) to construction contract execution Responsible for managing project risks and opportunities which could impact cost, time, quality or deliverability of the project Responsible for agreeing contract forms and contractual negotiations Responsible for co-ordination of required project resources including managing the process of consultant selection (facilitating the input of others) and managing the external design fee budget and internal resource budget during conversion Ensure the development of capability, clarity of roles and responsibilities, management of performance and interface within team Owner of the overall development project program in conversion.
Responsible for establishing the project conversion programme including co-ordinating the inputs of other functions and managing and delivering to this, including change control.
Responsible for managing the client project expectations, balancing their aspirational objectives with the commercial constraints.
Managing the client approval phases to ensure their satisfaction with all product and commercial appraisal outcomes Work closely with the Development Director in preparation of the development strategy, ensuring providing technical and design due diligence and the necessary feasibility, design, cost, time inputs as part of the master development / optimisation opportunities.
Identify and preparation of all required authority approval documentation. Responsible for proactively running workshops with key contributors to ensure there is consistent appreciation for the priorities of needs vs wants and to develop the concept through particular design challenges or value engineering maintaining quality requirements.
Challenge the project team to achieve efficient and the optimal response to the brief in the context of time and risk imperatives Responsible for facilitation of establishing the Incident & Injury Free strategy for the project under management and delivering it with in the design and product created.
Manage and ensure delivery to the Lend Lease GMRs during conversion including active facilitation and management of the ROAD and Principal Designer process to eliminate hazard and risk in development, construction and operation Ultimate Owner of the design and cost plan process in conversion.
Responsible for managing the design within the cost plan and commercial development parameters including change control during the conversion process.
Responsible for managing the technical and innovation risk & opportunity in support of the development objectives and requirements.
Responsible for all DPM inputs to the LLD governance process (PSG, PCG & Compass) and ensuring a well documented process for defining the scope, assumptions and price throughout, including independent validation of the same.
Responsible for the timely completion of all design and design authority documentation during the conversion phase. Ensure appropriate strategic engagement with the consultant community and oversee all design / er strategy (balancing innovation and concept opportunity, with consistency, documentation capacity and risk management) Manage design consultant PSAs through to point of novation.
Manage PCSAs through to point of Construction Contract. Facilitate engagement with contractor to ensure the input of logistics, buildability, programme into the design process.
Ensure consistent contract engagement process and approach with LLC Ensure development of appropriate strategic procurement initiatives Ensure compliance with the brief / authority / financiers / customer requirements during the conversion stage Essential / Desirable Criteria Essential : A passion for cities and placemaking Demonstrable experience of managing development vision and outcomes in large scale urban regeneration projects and demonstrable understanding of development processes A highly collaborative individual who will demonstrable ability to bring together a multi layered team, and lead internal and external stakeholders Experience of supporting meaningful and inclusive community engagement processes on complex development schemes Commercial acumen and negotiation skills Proven exposure to managing 3rd party stakeholders An understanding and appreciation of the contractual relationships between parties (land-owners, local authority, tenants, funders and banks) A desire to think beyond physical transformation and drive socio economic improvements for local communities Excellent presentation and communication skills Strong people management and issue resolution skills, including the ability to upwardly manage Clients, Partners and Stakeholders.
