HMP Cardiff is a category B prison holding male adult prisoners on remand or those sentenced to less than two years. The men in our care are mainly drawn from the South East Wales region.

The operational capacity is circa 800.

The Inreach team are looking to appoint a community mental health nurse to deliver assessments and interventions to men receiving secondary care.

The post has become available due to service developments and increased funding for mental health care in the prison. This is an exciting time to join the team as there will be opportunities for training and to be involved in service improvement projects.

We work with community teams, prison staff, healthcare staff and third sector organisations to deliver holistic care during periods of custody and to plan for release.

We are a multi-professional team including nurses, occupational therapist, psychology, psychiatry and counselling.

If you are interested in working collaboratively with others, in an environment where you can make a real positive difference to a persons life then this could be the role for you.

The job will challenge and reward in equal measure.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and / or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Closing date : 13th August 2020
