Why this role matters
You’ll be part of a team of business improvement managers, supporting the identification of improvement areas, defining solutions, testing through proof of concept and pilot stages and ultimately signing-
off delivery of an approved solution.
You’ll produce and provide the data and information to help secure capex budget to invest in new systems or technology. At a time of considerable change for FND and Openreach the requirement for complex, integrated, end-
to-end process improvement, solution design and system development is extremely high, and has significant impact on the long-
term fitness and success of FND, through helping driving operational efficiency, service improvement and unit cost reduction.
Impact is primarily short to midterm, but you’ll also be able to develop plans to improve long term-measured performance.
Acting as an ambassador of Business Improvement you’ll influence operational people by adopting different working practices, by closely involving them in the development of Business Improvement activity and by enabling them to implement and sustain the changes.
What you'll be doing
Deliver on all aspects of strategic improvement / change initiatives / discovery activity in a defined functional area of FND, or in cross-business processes
Undertake high-level insightful analysis to design and manage business improvement initiatives that deliver defined business outcomes.
Develop and deliver solutions, test through proof of concept and pilot stages and ultimately sign-off delivery of an approved solution, including providing the information required to secure capex investment where required
Deliver key business improvement and change programmes linked directly to the business strategy, including management of junior team members
Produce analysis that will lead to the identification of programmes / major change initiatives.
Ensure that the appropriate business improvement skills are used.
Ensuring your delivery of BI programmes is in a standard and consistent approach to developing transformation solutions, following the appropriate gating and governance as defined by the Portfolio Management Office (PMO)
Using BI tools and process in support of improvement initiatives into BNO.
To maintain an excellent relationship with key internal / external stakeholders and suppliers as appropriate.
To manage a team of BI specialists.
Ensuring the use of Business Improvement methods and tools.
To communicate the BI approach in a compelling, inspiring and interesting way using real case study examples.
