The Team

The Partnerships team is a well established contributor to the profitable growth of our Direct business (), currently managing over £27m GWP.

Hiscox Partnerships have traditionally been built around our market leading HNW proposition and working with a range of associations to distribute our Home products to their members.

As Hiscox Direct has diversified, the Partnerships team has evolved with it and is now increasing our focus on the rapid expansion in terms of distribution of our SME proposition, built around the intelligent use of data, placing customer UX over the pre-requisite of high-standard products and integrating with third parties to fundamentally improve the way SME customers are serviced by the insurance industry.

The Role

The Partnerships Account Manager will be responsible for managing some of our leading partners, developing strategic plans that will drive performance, detailed analysis and identifying trends, communicating the partners’ own strategy clearly and aligning it with our own, seeking out any and every opportunity to further develop the proposition and distribution with both our existing partners and potential prospects.

Supported by a team of 11, the role is incredibly varied working across operations, marketing, account / relationship management, analytics, proposition development and contract negotiations.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with the National Partnerships Manager, you'll effectively manage and grow our strategic partners against plan, including :

  • Develop strategic plans for each partner you manage, articulating where both parties independent strategies cross over and where this creates opportunity for success;
  • The production, analysis and reporting of key performance metrics to both internal / external stakeholders, identifying trends and proposed activity as a result;
  • Stakeholder Mapping obtain and outline personnel, roles, responsibilities and develop strong relationships with the main contacts, setting objectives and manage day to day interactions
  • Governance framework Review contractual agreements with partners and ensure a suitable internal governance framework is designed and rolled out to key stakeholders.
  • Manage all partner meetings and engagements with well planned, structured and documented deliverables;
  • Support on developing prospective partnerships in line with team strategy develop business case and manage partner on-boarding and contract processes;
  • Service Centre engagement focus on supporting our Service Centre and raising partnerships profile with our teams on the phones, ensuring staff are always informed of partner updates and partnerships kept front of mind;
  • Working with the Partnerships Marketing Manager and Partnerships Marketing Executive to ensure marketing plans are effectively delivered and reflect our unique insight into our partner organisations.
  • Manage partner budgets and financial targets in line with internal measures set achievable but stretching goals to keep the portfolio in positive growth.
  • To be able to find and influence the required people in the Hiscox business to quickly resolve problems for our partners.

  • Person Specification :

    Our must haves

  • Previous experience in a client facing role (broker or direct) dealing with key accounts (within the financial services industry - preferential)
  • Ability to build strong relationships at a senior level (Director level)
  • Ideally degree educated, or with a professional qualification recognised in the insurance industry
  • Good degree of commercial awareness and analytical skills excellent PowerPoint and excel skills are required
  • Creative and pragmatic present options / solutions to problems whilst not being afraid to ask for support. No idea is a stupid idea.
  • Professional attitude you must be able to handle difficult / tough conversations and maintain professionalism in the face of adversity.
  • A self-starter and have a tenacious can do / will do mentality we do not micro-manage but we do support everyone to achieve their goals.
