KPMG’s Transformation Consulting team is looking for exceptional candidates for a Senior Manager role, with Cost Optimisation experience.

Here is an opportunity to advise privately owned businesses on responding to what is currently their most pressing concern costs.

The role is within Transformation Consulting - KPMG’s Business-wide Transformation Centre of Excellence . Our specialism is in partnering with clients to transform their business performance through the design and implementation of significant shifts in their business model(s) and associated operating model.

These changes strategically improve a business in its markets, its relationships with customers, and its products. We implement clients’ strategies in practical, sustainable, value-adding ways.

Role & Responsibilities

A successful Senior Manager focused on Cost Optimisation in our Transformation team will :

  • Work as part of a team to address complex strategic, operational, and organisational cost issues
  • Design and execute analysis to support the development of evidence-based insights, including baseline, performance, and business & operating model reviews
  • Develop improvement opportunities with business cases and implementation plans for our clients, underpinned by robust review and analysis
  • Independently own and drive work, taking on the responsibility to manage small teams as required and supporting junior team member development
  • Develop close working relationships with the client, often working in joint teams, in the development and delivery of recommendations
  • Business Development

  • The role involves building and leveraging both internal and external relationships to support Partners and Directors in driving business development and sales activities
  • Contributing to the development of response for proposals (RFPs) to client opportunities
  • Developing and refining innovative and client focused go-to-market propositions
  • Seeking to cross-sell and bring opportunities to other parts of the firm where appropriate
  • Key Competencies

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, combined with sound commercial acumen
  • Experience of delivering operational strategy or cost reduction projects with one or more of the following :
  • o operating model design,

    o performance benchmarking,

    o Zero Basing analysis,

    o Lean Six Sigma

  • A pragmatic approach to analysis and problem solving, with the ability to structure client issues and implement conceptual models in complex environments
  • An ability to assess information and distil into key strategic insights, as well as convey these clearly and succinctly in both oral and written form
  • Comfort in developing analysis and opportunities in often ambiguous or changing client situations
  • The skills to combine quantitative and qualitative analysis to create insight and a compelling case for change
  • An appetite for working both collaboratively and individually, with a willingness to constructively challenge clients, peers, and leaders
  • An ability to form excellent working relationships, both within KPMG and with clients
  • Flexibility to adapt to a variety of different engagement types, working hours and work environments and locations
  • The highest degree of personal and business integrity
  • Your Experience

    Successful applicants will demonstrate the following :

  • 7+ years’ experience working in a leading strategy house, Big 4 firm (or similar), strategy / development team in industry, with cost focus
  • Strong foundational understanding of the value drivers within the Operating Strategy and Cost Transformation focus area
  • Experience of managing projects and project workstreams and take responsibility for small teams
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with team members and broader (internal and external) stakeholders
