The Intelligence Unit provides intelligence and insight on the council’s services, schools and communities to enable effective decision making.
The team’s key objective is to provide actionable information & insight to managers and workers right across the organisation so they can make key strategic decisions and manage their services effectively.
The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the team to manage and help develop our new corporate reporting tool Power BI.
This new role provides the opportunity to be a key player in the roll out and expansion of Power BI throughout the council.
Who are we looking for
We need a dynamic and enthusiastic Power BI professional to help us shape and manage the development of Power BI reporting through the council.
You must have demonstrable experience of being a committed professional working in Power BI and data visualisation, with excellent technical skills in Power BI, DAX, SQL.
and other key Microsoft tools.
Experience of managing or developing people is also required as the role involves motivating, training and developing the community of practice for Power BI.
The role
Oversee of the governance of the data and workspaces in Power BI and monitor the operation of dataflows and visualisations within the published content to ensure that optimum operation within the Premium capacity is maintained.
Provide a gatekeeper role for the dataset development, dashboard and report publishing process in conjunction with the developers and Data Stewards working with each service area.
Contribute to the Community of Practice and Work with development analysts to share experience and best practice in Power BI applications.
