Citi's UK Commercial Bank division works with business and commercial customers who have annual sales ranging from $50 million to $1.

5 billion (comprised of Middle Market and Mid-Corporate segment), and are headquartered in the UK with a multinational presence.

Commercial Bankers are relationship-focused finance professionals responsible for understanding the wide range of complex financial issues facing our clients around the world.

As a member of the Commercial Banking team, your job will be to find ways for our clients to maximize their growth while taking full advantage of Citi's banking products.

Our business partners include product specialists from Corporate finance, Capital markets, M&A, Treasury & Trade Services and Markets.

The Senior Banker (VP) role is based in London, and reports into the Head of Industrials, UK Commercial Bank. Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to, execution of the Industrials strategy for the UK Commercial bank via acquiring, building and managing new to bank relationships with UK based public & private companies with revenues of $50 million to $1.

5 billion whilst providing global financial solutions.

This position requires an experienced relationship manager capable of driving business independently. The senior banker should have proven client relationship skills, an ability to call at the CEO / CFO level, with proven experience and strong knowledge of corporate finance, commercial lending and cross selling multiple banking products.

Prior banking experience in UK is preferred, with strong knowledge of the UK market.

Specific responsibilities and required skills are listed below.

Job Purpose :

  • Active calling and acquiring of UK mid-cap and mid-corporate customers within the Industrials target market of CCB UK.
  • Managing relationships and providing exceptional service for CCB customers, including selling cash management, FX, trade and credit product solutions aimed at supporting the international operations and / or expansion of CCB customers
  • Interaction with other CCB structures across the globe
  • Verifying adherence to global KYC (Know your customer) standards during the onboarding process
  • Maintain overall control and accountability for the managed relationships and develop portfolio.
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Customer acquisition and building customer relationships, with a main focus on the mid cap corporates in the UK that have multinational presence
  • Identify, pursue and close sales opportunities for a broad range of financial products and services
  • Manage complex, multi-product client relationships as the primary relationship manager
  • Collaborate with risk, product and implementation teams in order to offer the clients best of class services
  • Adhere to internal control policies including KYC, completion and updating of all required documentation
  • Provide strong and visible leadership, foster a positive attitude among team members, clients and prospects
  • Knowledge :

  • Experience in acquisition and managing a relationship with mid size corporate clients in the UK.
  • UK Based professional / commercial banking experience as a Relationship Manager
  • Understanding of banking products for middle market corporate customers
  • Understanding of on-boarding process critical elements
  • Skills :

  • Fluent in English
  • Additional languages advantageous

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
