The Works Services Maintenance Team provides a maintenance and repair service for a wide range of Works Services plant and site infrastructure equipment on the Liberty Rotherham site.
The vacancy is for an experienced Mechanical Technician to Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of a small team of multi skilled and flexible craftsmen.
The position is for a hands-on craftsman with proven leadership skills as well as specific engineering knowledge and a good range of mechanical maintenance competencies.
Equipment covered includes compressed air plant, steam boilers, pressure systems, gas, propane, oxygen and a variety of water and sewage pumps and systems.
The job holder should preferably be apprentice trained but must have minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintaining heavy industrial plant.
As a Team Leader you must be able to understand and contribute to implementation of safe working procedures and the application of safety practices to each task you are undertaking and ensure other team members behave accordingly.
The Team Leader must be self-motivated and highly flexible. They are required to work unsupervised and deliver a first-class customer service in accordance with departmental goals and KPI’s.
Key competencies are a methodical approach to work with attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, IT skills to create jobs and record work done, and effective verbal communication.
Along with others the Team Leader is required to order spares, arrange for work to be done with Production and other engineering teams, supervise the work of his own team and specialist contractors, and contribute to the general safe working of the department for which training, and supervision will be provided.
A current driving license is essential.
Working hours are 7.30am to 3.30pm with opportunity for occasional overtime working.
The role operates on a 7-day rota basis.
