Technology Business Analyst


As a Barclays Technology Business Analyst, you’ll be responsible for heading business analysis for major data and integration programmes across Consumer Finance.

Collaborating with other Development Leads and SMEs - reviews Business requirements, you’ll produce system requirements / functional specs / technical specs.

As an integral part of development team, you’ll provide guidance to developers on required features, clearly define system requirements and associated acceptance criteria.

Hybrid Working

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing documentation of high-level and detailed technical design to enable development teams to successfully deliver business outcomes
  • You will be responsible for engaging with business stakeholders for analysis and High level design of the granular trial balance data processing components
  • Analysing business requirements to identify technology changes required to meet desired outcomes
  • Using data analytical tools to identify quality issues, patterns and inform technical solution design
  • Understanding and acting according to additional firm wide Programs and Technology Business Landscape changes, which are expected to impact delivery of the solution
  • Coordinating and hands-on assistance with, User Acceptance Testing
  • What we’re looking for :

  • Extensive experience with complex system integration and excellent understanding of the full SDLC lifecycle including both Waterfall, Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Experience with creating contextual diagrams to show interfaces, data flows, use cases and high-level processes
  • Data modelling and implementation design in Hadoop
  • Knowledge and understanding of Data Analysis tools such as Alteryx and Python
  • Skills that will help you in the role :

  • Understanding of Finance, Risk and Treasury will be beneficial
  • Control minded, with ability to identify risks, define controls
  • Experience in delivering Data Transformation programmes
