Preferred Qualifications

Primary job responsibilities

·Serve as a subject matter expert at the client site, addressing the technical, developer, and strategic IT needs

·Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification, and the design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions

·Architect solutions to meet the unique requirements of Oracle's new and emerging customers and oversee proofs of concepts and pilot implementations of Oracle's Cloud Native Linux solutions portfolio

·Learn new technologies and apply these concepts to customer needs

·Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Oracle's services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk

·Serve as a subject matter expert and present creative ideas in the community by producing exceptional whitepapers and webinars and by speaking at high-profile industry conferences

·Lead technical sales engagements through a consultative sales process

·Prepare and deliver presentations and demos

·Mentor and lead clients in DevOps and Cloud Native engagements

·Ability to conceptualise

·Work closely with different organisations at clients 

·Quickly discern client environments, business needs, and culture

Minimum Requirements

·Experience with application development or application modernisation, in a DevOps environment

·Knowledge of application architecture (application servers, integration patterns, microservices, JEE, CI/CD, build management, etc.)

·Knowledge of and experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and container technologies like OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes and Docker

·Experience with frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, or similar and JavaScript

·Ability to quickly learn new technologies

·Ability to communicate value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders in both technical and business audience

·Good communication skills - verbal and written - with the ability to collaborate well in a team and across organisations

·Willingness to travel up to 50%

·Practical experience with Agile methodologies is a major plus

·Interest, passion, and experience of working with open source technologies and communities is a plus

Senior Requirements

·7+ years of experience in technical leadership and architecture roles 3+ years of experience in DevOps roles and conceptual knowledge of the entire DevOps stack

·Strong DevOps leadership and engineering experience applying DevOps and CI/CD concepts

·Consulting experience working in customer-facing engagements 

·Good experience conceptualising and designing overall pipeline architecture

·Experience leading teams to solve business challenges

·Strong systems administration background in a variety of environments - Linux, Windows, virtualised, and cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.) 

·Broad automation experience in build, test, configuration and deployment in complex environments

·Solid experience managing environments from development to production

·Strong experience in scripting languages

·Understanding and experience with a variety of deployment approaches

·Undergraduate degree preferably in Computer Science or similar technical degree 

·SCM experience in multiple repositories (Github, VSTS, etc.)

·Automated build experience in multiple tools (MS Build, Maven, ANT, etc.)

·CI experience in multiple tools (Jenkins, VSTS, etc.) 

·Configuration Management experience (DSC, etc.) 

·Release Management experience with VSTS

·Scripting experience in multiple languages - (PowerShell, Python, etc.)

·Knowledge of automated testing (Selenium, Visual Studio, etc.)

·Knowledge of infrastructure concepts (IP networking, load balancing, firewalls, etc.) 

·Knowledge of monitoring tools (Application Insights, New Relic. etc.) 

·Knowledge of development concepts (REST, JSON, etc.)

·Knowledge of branch strategies 

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
