Roskear ward is a mixed cardiology and respiratory ward based at Royal Cornwall Hospital. Roskear has a highly skilled dynamic team who are passionate and dedicated to delivering the highest standards of holistic individualised patient care.
We are looking to employ an energetic, pro-active and motivated Unit Sister / Charge Nurse. The successful applicant will lead a nursing team consisting of qualified and support staff with a variety of cardiology and respiratory nursing skills.
This is firstly a leadership role and good strong leadership skills are essential, alongside experience in acute nursing.
The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable being a member of the multi-disciplinary team, be able to work as a skilled member of the nursing team delivering a high standard of holistic nursing care.
You must possess significant nursing experience. The post holder must be willing to learn and will have opportunity to attend formal study sessions.
Roskear is a 28 bedded ward that cares for patients with a wide range of cardiac and respiratory conditions. We work closely with our multidisciplinary team, consultants, specialist nurses, (heart function, chest pain and cardiac rehab and surgical liaison) and therapists, all of whom provide education and share specialist knowledge.
The ward works closely with other wards in cardio / respiratory to ensure the best possible outcome for our patients.
This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week with a requirement to work flexibly over a 7 day period.
