Altran is recruiting an Advanced FEA Technical Lead to join the team in Bristol.
We are recruiting a specialist for advanced Finite Element Analysis to support structural modelling & analysis projects.
The successful candidate will require thorough knowledge and experience delivering and leading structural analysis activities on a variety of applications with an emphasis on aerospace structures, but also gas turbines and energy systems.
The position has several key responsibilities :
Technical review of others work
Focal point with the customer for advanced FE activities
Liaison with wider, trans-national team
Work-package scoping and assessment
Planning and delivering Finite Element studies, in particular Non-Linear Analysis
Support and technical review of the projects undertaken by the team
Focal point in front of customer for advanced FE, in particular Non-Linear analysis
Establish client needs, report to wider team
Work-package scoping and assessment, resource estimates
Work-package follow-up and reviews
Writing high-quality engineering statements and reports
Technical / Quality assurance of team deliverables
Technical support and mentoring to other team members
Proven expertise in building FE models static, dynamic, non-linear, thermo-mechanical, 2D or 3D.
Proven expertise in structural aircraft analysis in metallic and composite structures
Qualified Mechanical Engineer, CEng status preferred
Specific knowledge of non-linear FE and Abaqus : contacts, buckling, sub-modelling etc.
Experience of both Hyperworks and Abaqus CAE environments
Performing post-processing and generating appropriate outputs
Producing technical presentations and reports
