A primary school in central Wetherby have contacted Teaching Personnel in search of a Year 3 teacher to start full time from September onwards.
If you are experienced in KS2 teaching and can travel to LS22, then read on for details of the role and how to apply!
A year 3 teacher is needed for the entire winter term 2020, as they have a teacher currently off on maternity leave and would like a full-time member of staff to take over the class, as opposed to the job share they currently have.
The school was rated as GOOD in its last Ofsted and the Head has been at the school since 2017 in which time they’ve remained consistent in terms of results.
The school has ample parking space and is convenient to get to by train or bus.
The selected candidate will ideally be someone with experience of teaching in KS2, and particularly lower KS2 previously.
This is because these yeargroups present a unique set of circumstances, as they are not assessed but are vitally important in preparing students effectively between each set of SATs exams.
The school has traditionally struggled in KS2 SATs more so than KS1 and the SLT have largely attributed this to poor progress scores in Year 3 and 4.
So, any track record of maintaining good progress over these yeargroups and in-depth knowledge of the curriculum would be highly desirable to the school.
Also, whilst the behaviour in the school is on the whole quite good there are some more boisterous boys in this particular class.
Therefore someone who can be firm at times is needed to prevent themselves and others being distracted.
If you are interested in this role then please apply by sending an up-to-date CV. The school will peruse these and select some favoured candidates.
If the school does return before the end of term in July as is hoped, then the school are keen to organise half-day trials as well as a handover period with the current class teacher for the chosen candidate.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com / faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training.
All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
