THE POSITION

The HP Communications Manager will support the HP Communications Lead to deliver HP TA and product communications across the UK business.

Offers strategic advice, content development and execution plans where required, including for pre-launch activities where appropriate.

This role will act as the communications subject matter lead in their franchise area and support the Head of HP Communications and the wider comms team during any issues and crisis management activities as well as provide content for digital and social media activities.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivers on the day to day activity required to build the HP communications strategy and the business objectives of each respective franchise group.
  • Manages HP product / asset related media relations, as well as internal and external HP / product or therapeutic areas related campaigns and communication programmes.
  • This includes aligning with global campaigns and assets and where appropriate implementing in line with the UK and Ireland codes.

  • Builds a strong TA comms capability that plans for, creates and executes its disease awareness and product plans, tailored to the different stakeholder audiences, using agencies where expertise or resources are not available in-house, and in close collaboration with key HP stakeholders, including TAs, PV, Medical, GTM, HCA & the wider comms and PGA team.
  • Supports the delivery of TA and HP business objectives.
  • Liaising with Patient Organisations where there is a communications opportunity.
  • Supporting the Head of Comms & PGA and HP Comms Lead in maintaining, developing, and further strengthening the description and positive perception of the HP narrative and ensure close alignment with the Global Comms Strategic Agenda.
  • Using the full palette of communication tools and people skills to further develop the HP story with maximum reach - both internally and externally.
  • Develop and implement communication plans for the TAs and specific assets within the HP business reflecting the whole value chain.
  • Manage on a daily basis HP communications and reputation topics that may impact the image and reputation of the company.

    Responsible for the delivery of internal and external HP communications for UK & Ireland. High degree of interaction with cross-functional and business

    REQUIREMENTS

  • Experienced communications professional familiar with current and new digital media
  • Experience of working in house in an external facing role or for a specialist consultancy
  • Able to integrate internal and external activities
  • Sound crisis and issues management experience, ability to operate under pressure and keep a cool head.
  • A collaborator, someone who fosters teamwork over individual performance and sees the value of team diversity. A cross-functional, collaborative mindset is essential.
  • A strong business and market understanding in order to quickly determine which key messages will be effective and how.
  • Capable to advise and influence senior leaders on the best communication practices for any given situation. Knowledge of human pharma industry an absolute preference.
  • Healthcare expertise and detailed knowledge and understanding of the codes for UK and Ireland.
  • Track record of proactively handling corporate external / internal communication including media / press management, corporate brand, reputation, digital communication, as well as crisis and change management.
  • Master’s degree within a relevant field.
