Job Purpose

The role in Ultrapharm is responsible for managing a production team tasked with ensuring that a range of challenging KPIs within the department are constantly exceeded.

The role plays a key part in assisting with the implementation of the strategy for the manufacturing area and will work on a number of improvement projects, whilst ensuring that the team is engaged and performing to a high level.

Role Key Accountabilities

  • To demonstrate inspiring leadership, which motivates and engages teams to achieve high performance and drives performance of the department forward
  • To contribute to the development of the long term manufacturing strategy, and implement initiatives geared towards operational excellence.
  • Accountability for the effective implementation and monitoring of people management including policy and procedures relating to performance management, attendance management, quality and employee relations activities
  • To develop a culture of high performance and improvements amongst teams, where employees are motivated and engaged
  • Ensure that staff are kept safe, by promoting safe behaviours at all times, and taking accountability for the health and safety action plans and improvements
  • To ensure that all roles work in line with process, policy and practice
  • To provide coaching and mentoring, putting in place plans for succession planning and talent management to meet the needs of the department, and develop people in line with performance and role needs so they can achieve their potential
  • To ensure that lean activities are carried out, and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented and embedded effectively
  • Ensuring that KPIs and targets are met within the department
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience of leading manufacturing teams
  • Previous experience in an operational management role, working in a fast paced environment.
  • Preferred ILM 5 leadership qualification (or commitment to working towards this qualification during tenure).
  • Experience of working in a large and diverse workforce, dealing with conflict and difficult situations
  • Demonstrate experience and knowledge in the application of Health and safety at work. IOSH Managing Safety is a desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering improvement initiatives, and change management
  • Previous experience of being accountable for and successfully achieving KPIs
