Our Insurance clients engage us to solve their most complex problems, helping them to shape and deliver a strategy in response to new competition, the increased focus on digital transformation, and the rise of the number of InsurTechs revolutionising the competitive landscape.

As part of this team, you'll work alongside a team of Insurance specialists from across the Global and General Insurance markets and will be able to quickly build upon your existing industry knowledge and consultancy skills to develop your expertise.

We will be looking to you to help lead project teams and develop junior members of staff.

Your role

Provide technology perspective and support to client technology strategy, future state-of-the-art systems and implementation programmes

Help articulate the architectural vision, creating models and component and interface specification documents, and validate the architecture against requirements and assumptions

Support the technical lead within your workstream to enable the team to deliver new products and services effectively

Support clients throughout the whole project lifecycle activities across discovery, requirements gathering, solution design and build, end-to-end testing, process definition and change and go-live

Work within diverse teams to deliver measurable business outcomes to quality and timescales

Build effective client relationships with peer-level stakeholders across all business and technical domains including IT, Operations and, Risk

Contribute to business development work, bringing an entrepreneurial mindset to develop and grow our key propositions to market through pre-sales, bid preparation and client presentations

Participate fully within Deloitte to assist the growth of the insurance practice and the Industry Solutions division including supporting the firm’s commitment to creating a more diverse and inclusive culture

Location : London with occasional domestic and international travel

This is a permanent opportunity.

The role is to be worked on a full-time basis

Your professional experience

You will have :

Experience gained within a top-tier insurer (General, Specialty and / or Life), technology or consulting firm, either within an architectural design or development function

An aptitude and ambition to be a successful member of our consulting team working in application design and implementation, business transformation, systems implementation, or process design and implementation.

Experience or good understanding in at least one insurance process and technology change in areas such as :

oCore General Insurance processes, reporting and governance across Underwriting, Policy

Administration, Billing, Claims, Finance or Risk Management

oLondon Market specific processes, reporting and governance

oReinsurance Underwriting, Accounting and Claims

Demonstrate a broad understanding of at least one key architectural domain : Data, Application (including integration patterns), Security, Infrastructure or Business.

Been part of an insurance transformation programme with experience in the integration of InsurTech / emerging technology solutions with core policy admin and claims platforms

You will have experience in delivering through various ways of working, including waterfall and various agile methodologies

Familiarity with modern software delivery tooling, for example, Jira, Confluence, QA and CI / CD tools

Appreciation of emerging technology and trends in insurance

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

You may have :

Knowledge and delivery experience with one or more core insurance applications (e.g. Guidewire, DuckCreek, etc.)

A working understanding of cloud technologies and services

Industry certifications such as BCS, Agile / Scrum, Prince 2, among others

Enterprise or solution architecture certification (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman)

Vendor-specific certifications across insurance systems or cloud vendors
