If you are a talented, entrepreneurial and ambitious junior lawyer, who sees things a bit differently, Deloitte Legal could be for you.

We have built a new kind of law firm a market-leading legal advisory business with technology at its core and you can help us to shape it.

Deloitte Legal is unique : an agile, rapidly-growing business with the resources, international network and client list of a global law firm.

Deloitte’s legal practice in the UK is part of the global Deloitte Legal network, which has over 2,500 lawyers in more than 85 jurisdictions.

This makes Deloitte Legal one of the largest legal businesses in the world with a global footprint that exceeds that of any traditional firm.

Unlike traditional law firms, we can tap into the multidisciplinary expertise of Deloitte to provide holistic legal, tax, risk, financial advisory and other consulting advice to an unmatched list of clients, from listed multinational companies to entrepreneurs and family offices.

The IP & IT Disputes team is at the heart of Deloitte’s strategy and advises clients on all aspects of the digital economy.

The team joined Deloitte as part of the recent acquisition of Kemp Little LLP, and is already attracting exciting new clients and work.

We also prioritise and invest in technology and innovation, to deliver high-quality advice as effectively and efficiently as possible, for both our clients and Deloitte people.

This includes Dupe Killer , a machine learning tool that detects and categorises design and other IP infringements, which helps several retail and luxury brand owners to preserve the value and prestige of their brands and products.

We encourage consideration of flexible ways of working, both formal and informal arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients.

If this opportunity is of interest to you with some flexibility, please do discuss with us.

Your role

  • The IP & IT Disputes team (eight partners; 26 team members in total) focuses on four core areas : intellectual property disputes;
  • IT disputes; other commercial disputes; and IP advisory and transactions. The team works for many household-name clients as well as fast-growing companies and creatives, and is recognised, collectively and individually at partner and non-partner level, in the main legal directories.

We are looking for a lawyer with a background at a City firm or equivalent. Some IP and / or IT litigation experience is essential.

Most junior lawyers in our team work on matters across the breadth of the group’s core areas, to help build a solid base of experience and to decide which area(s) on which to focus over time.

We are, however, open to a degree of IP or IT specialisation from the outset.

This is an opportunity for a lawyer with the right mix of attitude, vision, experience, skills and drive to help us to achieve Deloitte Legal’s ambitious aims over the coming years.

We particularly look for traits such as curiosity, energy and drive, adaptability, team-orientation and a genuine interest in our work.

The role focuses on developing and honing your professional skills and delivering high-quality legal advice and matter management.

As you develop your skills and experience, you will increasingly focus on helping to define propositions, winning work and becoming a trusted legal advisor to clients.

The development of new technology, tools and client propositions is an important part of our work. Our team conceived, built and launched the AI Duper Killer IP infringement tool, (patent pending) and we have more plans in the pipeline.
