What you'll be doing
Greencore Northampton is looking to recruit a Waste Management FLT Driver, who will be working within the SHE department waste environment teams.
Full training will be given along with full waste team uniform after successful completion of trial period.
What we’re looking for
MHE (Mechanical Handling Equipment / Forklifts) Driving and operating MHE carefully, steadily and safely at all times following all training given.
MHE driving requires full license and internal training programme
Yard standards keep the area clean and tidy sweeping up, washing down, litter picking etc. Washing out the wheelie bins and dolavs at least daily.
Washing forklifts at least weekly.
Cardboard recycling Operating the cardboard baler as trained.
Plastic recycling Operating the plastics baler as trained. Packing and storing buckets, tubs, containers etc as trained.
Waste segregation Segregating waste as trained.
Pallets Sorting, stacking and loading pallets in the correct and safe manner.
Bread debagging clean bread as in pink bags as per site standards for onward recycling / reuse.
Food / Bread Compactor - loading food / bread compactor
Loading recyclate trailer Loading the trailer so that is it safe and stable for transport.
Loading food skip loading food waste in designated receptacle.
Porta Pac Operating the Porta Pac as trained.
Servicing our customers Making sure that waste is removed from the various units around site in a timely and orderly fashion.
Returning clean serviceable wheelie bins etc to those customers.
If any faults or problems are noticed or found then these are to be reported to your direct manager straight away so they can be assessed and actioned.
What you’ll get in return
An existing FLT driver is a must
Demonstrates good literacy and numerical skills, able to understand, communicate and report clearly in English
Experience of working in similar position within an FMCG environment
Basic Food Hygiene Accreditation, Allergen Awareness, Health and Safety (provided by Greencore)
Good problem solving skills
