    These people reside in the Commercial Product team and fulfil the Market Development role.


    As a Commercial Product Manager, you'll be focused on driving commercial engagements at both customer and business level and ensuring that Bottomline delivers the best, most innovative solution to meet the market opportunity, drives new sustainable revenue streams and provide customer loyalty and growth.

    What do we look for in a Commercial Product Manager?

    First and foremost, we are looking for a particular type of person who thrives in an organisation like Bottomline where change is constant and where we think like owners.

    Experience in a scale-up or a constant evolving and growing organisation would be an advantage.

    They must be smart, creative, persistent, curious and commercial. They understand the FDA space and they have a background sufficient to understand and relay technology that underpins the solutions.

    They believe so strongly in the problem to be solved, and the commercial opportunity to be exploited that they always find a way.

    They are the type of person who is constantly questioning and know that there is always a better way whether that’s how a customer’s process works or how we solve an internal problem.

    In addition, they will be the product champion throughout the lifecycle of the Product Family and will become an expert in the features, benefits and capacities of the Bottomline FDA portfolio, using inputs from customer, the market, and internal teams by creating and delivering compelling business offerings, supported with clear definition and messaging to drive business sales and financial results.

    This role is designed to help position Bottomline for market growth in the changing Payments and FDA landscape and to deliver against compelling events such as the move to cloud, ISO20022, intelligent use of data to name but a few.

    In this role, you will :

  • Have full ownership of aligning & leading multiple cross functional teams to deliver the best possible business and customer solution.
  • This will require a skill in managing across departments and breaking down hurdles & barriers to achieve your goals.

  • Develop a strategic vision of how we can achieve best in class solutions, in particular leveraging new concepts to help drive control and efficiency for our customers.
  • Managing the full product lifecycle.

  • Create a series of Product Plans, Go To Market plans and Roadmaps that speak to this long-term vision, working with our customers, stakeholders and global teams to align to business goals, while creating space and quick wins for short-term gains.
  • Bring these Product and Go To Market plans and Roadmaps to life with a hands-on approach to Commercial Product Management, working closely with the Development, Product, Sales, Marketing, Services and Support teams to have a detailed understanding of the problems, opportunities and solutions.
  • Help lead the way for how we approach new markets, adapting our proposition and user journeys to meet local needs while still offering a fantastic service to our customers.
  • Build an FDA team spirit where everyone understands the objectives, direction and their role within it creating a sense of energy and drive across the team.
  • Experience and Attributes

    Typically, as a Commercial Product Manager, ideally in the FDA sector, they would need to articulate how they would :

  • Generate orders and revenue growth in-line with company targets
  • Develop a strategic vision of how we can achieve best in class Value Propositions, in particular leveraging the latest industry trends, concepts and technologies to help drive control and efficiency for our customers
  • Create a Commercial Strategy and Roadmap that defines a long-term vision, working with Business stakeholders and global teams to align to business goals, while creating revenue opportunities
  • Bring this Strategy and Roadmap to life with a hands-on approach to Customers and internal stakeholders
  • Lead the way for how we approach new markets, adapting our user journeys to meet local needs while still offering a fantastic service to our customers
  • Optimise the performance of our products against key customer and business metrics
  • Delight our customers with new, unique Value Propositions that help them make the most out of their money
  • Provide lots of examples of defining and building great experiences for customers, and answering all of the difficult questions that come up
  • Balance solving complex problems within a fast-changing environment
  • Operate outside of their comfort zone and deal with ambiguity by reacting quickly to the needs of the customer and to a transitioning business.
  • In addition, we want them to bring their broad Commercial product management knowledge to bear, the core knowledge areas that we see as important are;
