Position Overview

We are seeking to recruit a passionate, agile and driven HR leader in a new and exciting role as HR Director - Culture & Change who enjoys delivering large, impactful programs of work across a diverse set of markets in an ever-changing environment.

This new and exciting opportunity is focused on the alignment of our business strategy, organisation culture and the experiences of people at CRH.

You’ll work to give consideration to external trends alongside internal best practices and innovation and drive strategic behavioural and process change across the organisation with a remit to improve organisational health performance and the engagement of our people.

You will take the lead on the stewardship for developing and delivering on cultural initiatives including development of health and wellbeing programs, driving change management and communicating internally across HR and with other key stakeholders.

As a senior HR Leader, you will be an important contributor and member of the HR Leadership Team and work closely with the centres of excellence as well as the divisional and functional HR groups to develop the organisation and improve its effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for a number of tasks including :

  • Taking on the stewardship of CRH cultural initiatives such as organisational culture assessments and leading cultural alignment projects
  • Implementation of CRH’s health and well-being programs
  • Implementation of change management initiatives across CRH
  • Managing HR internal communications
  • Understanding the strategic objectives and imperatives of the CRH culture and change programs and how they contribute to our broader business strategy
  • Applying strong project management discipline and knowledge when working with project teams and other functions
  • Influencing key internal and external stakeholders by developing strong relationships, demonstrating credibility and subject matter expertise
  • Working directly with Talent Leaders across the business and externally as required to ensure key business stakeholders are communicated with regularly, are well informed and are supported to implement changes
  • Using a comprehensive understanding of data and analytics, e.g. business performance and employee engagement metrics, and translate into clear, meaningful messages for stakeholders and business leaders to enable clear, data supported decision making
  • Communicating in a clear and compelling way, tailoring messages to the audience and understanding how to have impact in different media formats
  • Holding project team members and program resources accountable to deliver on project / program outcomes and requirements.
  • Supporting and coaching as necessary.

    Key Functional Competencies and Relevant Experience

    To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree level and / or have extensive equivalent professional experience of working in a busy multinational HR, OD, projects or change management environment.

    Your experience ideally includes both corporate and professional consulting some of which will be demonstrated by your experience in a HR business partnering capacity.

    You should have a global attitude with the ability to work virtually across multiple countries, time zones and cultures.

    Your experience should demonstrate international cultural awareness along with familiarity of the design and execution of global strategies in a decentralised global company

    Your proven ability to proactively engage with stakeholders and other team members in a predominantly (for now) virtual environment is clearly visible as is your skill at leveraging different technologies to understand the bigger picture’ and context and how specific activities and deliverables contribute to the project objectives.

    We are a team focussed on change management principles that engage stakeholders and ensure effective delivery of new programs and projects and need your expertise to enable this to happen.

    An ability to translate complex concepts into meaningful and impactful tools and interventions throughout the organization as well as a proven ability to balance conceptual thinking with capability as well as being able to manage time, resources, budget and deliverables would be evidential in your career.

    You should be able to demonstrate skilled numeracy and analytical awareness that enables you to grasp complexities and identify relationships between issues.

    Ideally you will have well developed project management skills, with an ability to prioritise to meet challenging deadlines and deliver high quality outputs with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy.

    Your presentation skills especially in virtual meetings, means that you are well versed and confident with Office365.

    Location : London, Amsterdam or Dublin preferred, but open to discussion.
