The roleof the Credit Risk Portfolio Manager sits in the UK Retail Credit RiskManagement team. The role holder is expected to deliver analytical solutions tofacilitate the implementation of credit risk scorecards and strategies toassist Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) businesses in theachievement of business plans (Rolling Operating Plan (ROP) by maximizingprofitability within acceptable delinquency targets.
The role will also involveresearch & development of new analytical techniques to promote bestpractices across the region.
Yourresponsibilities will include :
Leading a small team of individuals delivering analytical and strategy support to drive credit risk initiatives across the unsecured credit life cycle.
Ensure completeness of analysis as required, document results and present findings to senior stakeholders across the business.
Diagnose and resolve moderate to complex emerging risk issues, changing priorities, project completion issues and areas of conflict, assessing the impacts of these solutions on self, team and stakeholders, challenging established policy and procedures, where appropriate and suggesting alternatives.
Provide professional analytic consulting in Bank wide initiatives
Promote & maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders
Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.
Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the application of policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
Take personal responsibility for understanding and agreeing performance expectations, completing the necessary mandatory training and developing the levels of capability and competence needed to be effective in the role.
Contribute to team development, effectiveness and success by sharing knowledge and good practice, working collaboratively with others to create a productive, diverse and supportive working environment.
The idealcandidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications :
Experience working in Credit Risk or the Retail business would be preferable
Strong experience in analytics and using SAS is a must
Relevant product knowledge i.e. Unsecured Lending Products is desirable
Experience of managing the work of others and supporting their performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Strong stakeholder management experience with evidence of being able to influence key internal stakeholders
The baselocation of this role will be Leeds or Sheffield. Travel in this role will alsobe required to other sites within the UK as and when required.
