    Section 1 - JOB DESCRIPTION

    Plan, organize, develop, and control all activities on the site (production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities) in order to realize short, medium, and long term production and operational goals.

  • The Site Manager will comply with customer requirements, rules, laws, and regulations, while leading by example and living the Barry Callebaut Values of;

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure a safe, healthy and positive environment
  • Ensure all GMP, FSSC22000 / BRC and food safety regulations are being adhered to and maintained
  • Direct and manage plant operations for production, H&S, quality and maintenance (Engineering)
  • Coordinate with direct reports, planning to insure the total manufacturing objectives are met in a timely and cost effective manner (formulation of long and short term planning)
  • Propose and, after approval, manage the operations budget and assure effective use of funds
  • Translate and adapt corporate policies and programs (FSSC, BRC, HACCP, GMP, CI etc.) into local site plans
  • Monitor and optimize safety, quality, cost, and manufacturing efficiency
  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching to accomplish the companies’ goals and objectives for site
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity, reduce cost and waste, monitor waste and rework
  • Coordinate activities with the rest of the organization by acting as a liaison between departments and functions locally and within the wider BC Network and to inform personnel of decisions, policies, and all matters that affect their performance and results.
  • Ensure that the managed activities comply with the technical rules and regulations such as health, Safety, Quality, Hygiene, and environmental requirements.
  • Represent Barry Callebaut to the relevant institutions, authorities and at times customers
  • Promotes and develops the leadership skills of the internal team
  • REQUIRED ACADEMIC & TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or Operations Management
  • Experience in an operational role in a manufacturing business (Production unit), FMCG experience preferred
  • A total of 7 years’ experience in manufacturing, minimum of 5 years managerial experience
  • Performance improvement experience and proven track record against manufacturing KPIs in a leadership role
  • Experience in cost center management, very good understanding of manufacturing business financial management (Budgets & financial statements)
  • Solid background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required
  • Good communicator, inclusive and mature leader with excellent listening skills, high-performing team building ability with energy and charisma.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Must be self-reliant, full of initiative and able to make decisions
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
