We are now seeking a Lead Solution Architect to join our team to partner with business analysts and engineers to define the technical requirements, principles and models that generally guide all solution decisions for the ecosystem.
You are responsible for analysing and translating business, information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions that integrate across applications, systems and platforms to achieve business objectives, KPIs and Service Levels.
You look across applications, and consider infrastructure, to develop roadmaps that outline how solutions will be structured in the future.
What you will do :
Designs solution architecture in large or complex programs, including system and application designs, software and technical architecture, in accordance with strategies and objectives.
Works with all other architecture disciplines to create solution lenses for integration, infrastructure, security, data, application and process.
Provides expertise for the solution architecture team and other IT staff on a variety of issues in software designs, system architecture and solution-oriented technologies.
Creates and evaluates solution options with recommendations and rationale.
Designs solution roadmaps, and system and software architecture according to business strategies and solution architecture standards / processes.
Analyses client requirements and determining appropriate solutions to these requirements based on business needs.
Bridges the business analysis and technology teams to ensure fit for purpose solutions.
Oversees solution architecture programme and project outcomes, including hardware and software design; ensuring that each project phase meets overall requirements.
Leads the programme Design Authority ensuring business requirements and technical solutions are in accordance with architecture standards, and design specifications.
Communicates with clients and analyses business requirements and processes; making recommendations and leading in shaping future plans in solution architecture
Your experience will include :
Proven experience as a Solution Architect within ideally a defence environment
Conversant with up to date solution architecture methodologies
Appreciation of Scrum and Agile principles
Understanding of complex integration architectures based on SOA technologies, specifically Software AG.
Experience of TOGAF, and ideally MODAF as an architecture framework
Understanding and experience of Robotic Process Automation and User Experience Design
Understanding and experience of cloud migration strategies and supporting technologies, specifically MS Azure
Experience of working in a multi-layered security environment in the public sector
Ideally an understanding of Government Digital Services strategy, approach and key concepts, including GaaP (Government as a Platform), and specifically DaaP (Defence as a Platform) and disaggregated platform services design.
Ideally an understanding of common HR solution (HRS) capabilities / processes for payroll and pensions administration
Accreditation in industry-recognised qualifications and standards (including but not limited to TOGAF, Archimate) is desirable but not essential
You will have the leadership skills and gravitas to operate comfortably with senior colleagues, up to and including Executive Officer level
Personable and pro-active professional, able to demonstrate full commitment to providing exceptional customer care and service in all activities
Excellent levels of time management and personal organisation; able to multi-task
Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally
Outcome focussed and able to make tactical decisions, within their area of discretion, to ensure that the overall business aims are met in full;
You will be familiar operating in complex and large-scale organisational environments, and will bring career experience in one or more of large operational, managed services, outsourcing or consulting businesses
You will be a highly effective influencer of senior colleagues, with the emotional intelligence to match the intellectual skills required to ensure consistent application of functional standards, whilst remaining empathetic to the challenges the organisation face in delivering solutions for large programme and projects effectively
