Here at The Sheffield College we have an opportunity for two Finance Business Partners to join our Finance team at a pivotal time.
The position of Finance Business Partner is a fantastic opportunity to use your communication and analytical skills to support budget holders, delivering a significant improvement in the level of finance business partnering provided.
You will be reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, working as a team of three delivering business partnering across the College and to our partner organisation, Sheffield UTC.
Key Duties of the role include :
Preparation of month end journals for the relevant departments
Issuing monthly reports to budget holders, including narrative on variances against budget / forecast
Holding regular meetings with budget holders to review financial information and follow up any actions
Supporting budget holders with preparing quarterly re-forecasts and the annual business planning process
In addition to the above, the Finance Business Partnering team of three are responsible for :
Maintaining the Agresso system general ledger master data,
Developing and implementing the College Capital expenditure policy and the monitoring and recording of investment project spend.
Providing specific support to the UTC on the preparation of budgets, year-end financial statements and external audit and representation at Board meetings when required.
Posting journals which cover all departments (inc payroll and recharges)
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
Key requirements for applicants are :
Experience of liaising with non-Finance managers regarding performance reporting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to present meaningful financial information and analysis to all levels of stakeholder
Technically strong with an attention to detail
Experience of working in a medium / large organisation, with the associated level of complexity in systems and data (this can be in public or private sectors)
Commenced / intending to commence study towards a Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA / ACA)
GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 / C or above (or equivalent)
