Role Overview :

The Global Aerospace Finance Business Partner will be responsible for providing strategic financial support and direction to the Global and Regional leaders of the Aerospace business.

Global Aerospace is a key product within the Specialty Business Unit. Global Specialty is a circa $5bn gross premium portfolio, operating across multiple geographies and encompassing global Marine, Aerospace, Credit Lines and Energy businesses.

The London Hub is the center of excellence for underwriting expertise across all Specialty classes of business.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Business Partnership :

  • Support the development and execution of Business Strategies, influencing the future direction of the company and aligning business and finance strategy to generate sustainable, profitable growth;
  • Support the overall Finance operating framework by aligning activities and deliverables with the Controllers’, FP&A, Actuarial, Expense Management and Capital Management areas;
  • Perform key country level analysis in support of strategic growth and investment initiatives;
  • Proactive finance business partnering, using business acumen, analytics and professional insight to drive change, growth and profitability;
  • Embed the use of common key performance metrics and leverage analytics to provide insight that drives action;
  • Being an active leader in the broader Finance team, developing finance talent and assisting in the delivery of overall business goals (to include leading, mentoring, managing succession plans, fostering a culture of collaboration).

    Financial Reporting :

  • Quarterly P&L analysis and insight by product / segment / geography with appropriate linkage to business strategies and plans;
  • Provision of timely and relevant financial information to Specialty business leaders;
  • Ensuring all internal financial reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Monthly / Quarterly Expense reporting by business hierarchy with analysis and engagement with senior leaders to ensure GOE objectives are achieved.

    Financial Planning :

  • Lead planning, budgeting and forecasting activities (allowing for trending and seasonality);
  • Develop Multiyear plans supporting business strategies for products, segments and regions.

    The candidate will possess proven leadership, management and organizational skills. The successful candidate will have a track record of being able to drive organizational change both within the financial arena and throughout the supported organization.

    It is imperative that the Finance Business Partner possess excellent business acumen, strong leadership skills, along with the expertise to navigate and achieve the organization's financial goals.

    This individual must have experience across a broad range of financial disciplines and be a forward thinking and progressive leader.

    He / she will have extensive knowledge and experience in managing both strategic and tactical activities within finance and have experience managing internal and external business partners across various business disciplines.

    Job Requirements :

    Extensive experience of progressive accountancy or finance experience

    BA degree or equivalent; MBA a plus

    Strong Business and Financial acumen and ability to present issues clearly and concisely

    Background in Financial statement analysis

    Experience in forecasting and modelling and extensive knowledge of business performance and metrics

    Experience in performing complex analysis of financial and / or regulatory issues

    Superior understanding of the financial dynamics of a Property Casualty insurer and the related growth, profitability and risk drivers.
