Hours : Minimum of 16 hours per month or 4 per week

Are you concerned about crime and anti-social behaviour? Do you want to do something about it? Are you interested in a volunteer police role that will fit around your work and personal commitments?
As a Special Constable, you will support our Neighbourhood and Response Teams tackling crime and anti-social behaviour throughout Nottinghamshire.
You may also work with the wider Police family such as Police Community Support Officers (PCSO’s) and other specialist departments.
Out on patrol, you will provide a visible reassurance to local people and deter crime and anti-social behaviour. You will support and engage local communities, helping to resolve the problems they identify.
You will bring to the role your life experiences in dealing with the public and valuable skills from your employment in the workplace.
You will be an effective written and verbal communicator able to adapt your communication skills to all levels of society.
We will build on your skills increasing your knowledge and confidence. By the end of your training you will wear the same uniform as a regular Police Officer and have the same powers and able to demonstrate these skills on a daily basis.
There are three cohorts that we are recruiting for. You have to be able to commit to every date in order to complete the training.
Please see the training plan document which details the training dates on each cohort. We will discuss this with you at the interview to choose which cohort you want to join.
Cohort 01 / 19 starts 29th June 2019
Cohort 02 / 19 Starts 26th October 2019
Cohort 03 / 19 Starts 7th March 2020
