The Technical Services Analyst is part of a team responsible for designing, implementing, managing and monitoring hardware, software and voice systems.

The Analyst will deliver key projects within the IT department and the broader business in addition to day to day duties.

You will form part of the Technical Services team who ensure that IT infrastructure and systems are up to date and running smoothly.

Our dedicated Service Desk team handles regular end-user support; however, the Technical Services Analyst may need to assist third line support with the resolution of major incidents.

Successful candidates will be required to work between 09 : 00 and 17 : 00 Monday to Friday and provide additional cover as required.

The role may require occasional travel to our nationwide, regional offices, and candidates may need to be away from base for more than one night at a time, depending on the project work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver projects to agreed objectives and timescales.
  • Effectively manage the expectations of staff and senior management during project implementations.
  • Monitor and manage voice systems and end-user voice soft clients.
  • Ensure the security, availability and integrity of systems and data.
  • Ensure that all relevant software and firmware are at the appropriate revision level.
  • Work with vendors to obtain, schedule and implement updates.
  • Ensure that all changes are implemented in a formal and controlled manner, appropriately communicated and documented.
  • Assist in the management of company hardware and software assets.
  • Assist in market research and periodic competitive tenders to determine the most appropriate cost for equipment, software and peripherals.
  • Assist with all administrative processes to simplify, automate, increase productivity and eliminate errors.
  • Assist with business recovery plans and periodically test procedures.
  • Liaise with the internal support team during project rollouts and complex technical issues.
  • Assist with knowledge development and encourage best practice within the support team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with third parties and ensure delivery of services.
  • Qualifications / Experience

  • The ideal candidate will have A-Level IT, BTEC in Computing, MCSA or equivalent. The successful candidate will also need the below;
  • Minimum of 3 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Working in large scale, multi-site environments
  • In-depth knowledge of : Windows OS 10Windows Server OS 2012 2019Active DirectoryMicrosoft Exchange 2016 2019Group PolicySAN storage infrastructureVMWareBackup Software (Arcserve, Veeam)Anti-virus products
  • Good knowledge of : SQL ServerScripting (PowerShell / VBScript)Remote access software such as TeamviewerMicrosoft Office (all versions)Voice systemsVideo ConferencingMicrosoft Azure & 365Networking
  • Skills

    The successful candidate will need excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills, excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical people as well as being able to quickly understand new systems and technology.

    Candidates will be able to demonstrate initiative and have a proactive approach to daily tasks, as well as being able to work in a team environment.

    Organisation and the ability to multitask and be adaptable to change is key. A valid UK full driving license is essential.
