We cover a wide range of disciplines, including risk evaluation, operational and strategic Information Technology processes, project governance, application implementation, data integrity, cyber security, and accounting / audit.

The role

  • As a Manager in Technology Risk you will be managing the work we do with our clients across one of our three key propositions : Change, Operate and Respond;
  • and ultimately delivering value to our clients by building trust in technology.

    You will manage the delivery of projects which provide our clients with confidence through change, help them build and operate their technology function and assist them in responding to technology-based crises or challenges.

    As a Manager you will have deep experience in at least one of our proposition areas but will have experience of working in at least two.

    Our key propositions are summarised below :

    Change : we support our clients through technology enabled change, providing assurance and advisory services to help them manage the risk associated with, and successfully deliver, complex change.

    We provide project, programme and PMO assurance and delivery services in addition to ensuring the right technology controls are considered and designed and implemented as part of technology change delivery.

    Operate : we support our clients build resilient, effective and efficient technology delivery capabilities to support the business.

    Our Operate team supports clients across the full breadth of Technology Operations : from managing technology risks and controls to supporting clients with developing effective IT architecture and service management capabilities.

    We support our clients with the adoption of Agile and Continuous Delivery including DevOps.

    Respond : as high-profile incidents become increasingly topical, we help our clients respond to and recover from technology based crisis, issues and challenges in their business and regulatory environment.

    We support them in preparing and testing response plans, respond to operational and IT incidents and remediating weaknesses exposed through incidents / crises.

    Through our help and support our clients are empowered to remain resilient in the face of disruption.

    Our propositions are complemented with strategic priorities that span our business. Experience in delivering or running these technologies is beneficial and will broaden your applicability to our clients :

    Cloud Apps & Infrastructure : as Cloud adoption accelerates we have built a team to help our clients manage the risks and consider the complexity involved in adopting Cloud technology and services.

    We advise our clients on strategies for maximising Cloud opportunities and how to scale business transformation to enable the use of Cloud technologies.

    Emerging Technology : emerging technologies (such as artificial intelligence, distributed ledgers, drones, extended reality, and quantum computing) provide businesses with the opportunity to be disruptive or disrupted.

    We help our clients to be confident when innovating with, scaling, and operating new technology. Understanding digital ethics, the changing regulatory landscape, and new technologies are essential to helping our clients innovate and manage risk.


    As a Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive professional services and industry experience, helping our clients solve complex problems, from strategy to execution.

    Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Proactively assist in the management of our relationships with a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers and above;
  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges which our clients face;
  • Assist in the scoping, management and delivery of Technology Risk client engagements;
  • Analysing complex client issues to develop a range of meaningful recommendations, which you will present back to the client;
  • Lead, coach and support teams of more junior practitioners to deliver client engagements;
  • Contribute to the development of your own and your team’s technical capabilities;
  • Take ownership for the financial management of client engagements;
  • Work collaboratively and build trusted relationships with colleagues and clients;
  • Pursue opportunities to develop existing and new skills outside of your comfort zone; and

    Uphold the firms code of ethics and business conduct while demonstrating you are a PwC Professional.

    Qualifications and Experience

    A significant track record working within technology risk, with a strong, proven experience in delivery and / or advisory roles

    An understanding of technology risk and delivery methodologies, good practice and industry standards across at least two of our three key proposition areas (see above)

    Excellent communication skills - both oral (for interviews / meetings, presentations) and written (for designing and writing reports which can communicate findings and clearly convey the message non-technical audiences)

    Experience in relevant frameworks and methodologies such as ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, PRINCE2, Agile, DevOps etc.
