Role description : Your Day-to-Day :

Your Day-to-Day :

  • Support the procurement of package contractors for a large ecology mitigation project in Suffolk
  • Post-contract admin of a target cost contract and package contracts
  • Management of compensation events and the adjustment of the target price
  • Develop effective working relationships with the Project Director and / or Project Manager and with the client and ensure effective communication of progress and changes and the resolution of issues
  • Work collaboratively with teams from across Arcadis in different service lines and sector roles to bring the best of Arcadis to our clients
  • Monitor the performance of team members and subcontractors, identifying and then ensuring resolution of any issues, escalating where necessary
  • Produce, review and quality-assure project outputs (e.g. documentation, reports, specifications) to ensure that they meet or exceed client expectations and Arcadis requirements and comply with national standards and codes of practice
  • Coach, guide and provide technical advice to junior team members, to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the clients business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to consolidate personal and company credibility in the industry
  • Promote Arcadis excellence in external / client communications
  • As a Project Cost Consultant in our Development Services group you will be an integrated member of our UK Site Evaluation & Restoration team whose role is to transform underutilised (often brownfield) land into high quality, productive, valuable and sustainable uses.

    Our current project portfolio includes several new garden communities, urban regeneration schemes and proposals for new industrial facilities throughout the UK.

    The Development Services group provides project coordination skills to oversee multi-disciplinary projects evaluating sites across a range of disciplines to inform development proposals.

    We provide a single point of contact for our clients and ours is a truly collaborative role requiring strong communication skills all supported by the existing team.

    Preferably degree educated in a relevant field, you will have over 5 years experience within a consultancy, local authority or property development setting.

    There is flexibility as to your choice of location within the UK, however we are ideally looking for someone to be located in either our London 80 Fen or Cambridge offices.

    Role accountabilities :

  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • BSc / BA qualified (or higher) in a relevant subject.
  • Professional experience and proven track record of consultancy work
  • Experience in property development, surveying, infrastructure engineering or environmental impact assessment would be advantageous
  • Ability to work both within both small dispersed teams and larger multidisciplinary teams in order to deliver projects to tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Commercial & technical risk awareness.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership level (or similar in field).
