Why this role matters
The role holder will provide specialist employee relations human resource project delivery solely related to the Better Work Place Programme to members of the Company’s senior employee relations team and is an integral part of the Better Workplace team.
The role is focused on the specialism of Employee Relations for BWP, taking full responsibility for results set at the Director level and delivering the overall Employee Relations strategic objectives.
The role holder is responsible for delivering Employee Relation project objectives and working with key stakeholders across the business to ensure full delivery of the Better work Place programme.
They will also have responsibility for the implementation, development and review of ER BWP working strategies to meet business objectives in line with legal requirements, company values, policies and procedures, HR best practice and external legislative requirements, Reporting into the Director of ER.
What you'll be doing
To support the alignment of the Better Workplace Programme (BWP) ER strategy across the business and ensure implementation across the business.
To implement robust project plans and business planning processes to deliver the BWP ER agenda aligned to specific locations which will vary during the programme.
Manage the ER agenda on all projects relating to BWP. Be involved in local negotiations with the trade unions and ensures resolution of complex issues that are of risk to the BWP programme delivery.
Work with Senior ER leads to shape business planning and ensure delivery against this.
Ensure appropriate governance for the ER team and compliance across the group e.g. reporting, weekly updates etc.
Provides specialist input to the successful delivery of our people policies and practices.To support and deliver strategic and business targets to BWP ER related issues.
To proactively partner with senior management and other colleagues within the business to achieve BWP programme objectives.
To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of people management and ER practices / processes in relation to the BWP programme.
Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships to shape and deliver BWP programme objectives as part of the ER strategic agenda.
Support the Director of ER in delivering the BWP ER agenda.
To effectively drive and provide expert professional expert management and consultancy services in relation to the BWP agenda.
Monitor on going individual BWP cases taking into account policy to progress cases to resolution.
Drive industry best practice within the BWP programme in relation to appropriate intervention and resolution of grievance cases.
Provide ER advice to BWP community.
Driving compliance, learning and knowledge in relation to employment law when delivering the BWP programme.
Impact is medium term and the role will be a 12-month fixed term contract.
Develops commercially sound solutions that influence business unit delivery and enable relocation into BWP long term buildings
In depth knowledge / awareness of functions outside of own programme area.
Develops plans for projects over the medium term.

Skills / Experience
Understands the key drivers for employee engagement.Uses employee engagement data to drive employee relations and industrial relations to improve overall employee engagement
Develops strong and trusted relationships with the UK trade unions to ensure a strong and positive working relationship on key negotiations and consultations in relation to BWP programme.
Will have full knowledge of key policies and union agreements to support key business programmes e.g. organisational changes, resourcing, attendance patterns changes.
Considers the impact of future employment legislation on the business and the ER agenda.
