An exciting opportunity has now arisen for enthusiastic individuals that thrive on the challenges that face to face’ customer service brings.

We are looking for Customer Service Officers to join our Customer Experience team at Wellingborough, Kettering and Market Harborough Stations!

This is a safety critical position where a key focus of this role is to maintain a high level presence on the station. You will be directing and assisting customers as necessary, providing exceptional customer service at all times, as well as ensuring the safe and prompt dispatch of all services.

As a Customer Service Officer you will demonstrate effective communication and customer service skills along with the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.

A working knowledge of Railway Rules and Regulations would be an advantage, but a positive attitude is essential.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a safety critical medical and drug screening. An element of the safety critical medical is the satisfactory completion of a railway standard colour vision tests.

The selection process :

Stage 1 - Submit application online and upload cv (if your application is shortlisted, you will progress through to the next stage)

Stage 2 - Assessment day - 20th September 2018

The assessment day will consist of various exercises.

  • Psychometric tests : The session will consist of two tests (concentration and safety), both of which must be successfully passed in order to be progressed through to the assessment day.
  • Please note : these are the ONLY available dates for testing to take place.

  • Group Exercise
  • Individual exercise
  • The strongest candidates will be progressed through to interview in the afternoon. Again, these are the ONLY available dates to attend an assessment.

    If we find more than one fantastic candidate, we will place the other successful candidates in our Talent Pool for future Customer Service Officer roles.

    Candidates will stay in the Talent Pool for a maximum of 12 months and during that 12 months, you will not need to apply for this particular role again! As and when we have Customer Service Officer vacancies arise, we will be in a position to pick up the phone and make a job offer!
