Hotels.com, an Expedia Group company, is looking for an Analyst to join our Customer Analytics Team. As a core member of our team, you will be working with big data sets and applying advanced data science techniques in a fun and stimulating environment.

Your actionable insights will be used to improve our Email and Push communication strategy, drive customer lifetime value, and deliver an amazing customer experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for a team-player who wants to be a central part of a truly customer focused team.

The successful individual will be able to work with minimal instruction and oversight, enjoy working on multiple tasks and projects at the same time, be a great partner to the Customer Marketing team, and own deliverables end to end.

Critical to your success in this role is a love of data (we love data!) - developing insightful analysis that you communicate in a clear and compelling way.

What you'll do

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Helping to implement a cutting-edge toolkit for A / B testing in CRM, levering external as well as internal expertise (our Product Analytics and Data Science teams) when required
  • Working closely with our Customer Data Science team to embed Machine learning techniques to personalise all aspects of our communications (content, messaging, contact frequency, contact timing )
  • Applying advanced analytics techniques to identify optimisation levers for our communication strategy
  • Encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing across brands within Expedia Group
  • Who you are

  • Demonstrated experience of using R (or similar tools) to structure, transform and visualise big data.
  • Strong SQL skills are a requirement - hands on use of big data in large projects using Hadoop, Presto, or Spark a bonus
  • Clear presentation of findings
  • A great teammate who loves to work collaboratively to tackle challenges
  • Focused, resilient, and able to easily continue to find solutions and work towards goals when setbacks / hurdles occur
  • Work Experience and Education Guidelines :

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science
  • Experience in customer insight, statistical modelling, data science or similar
  • Exposure to online marketing and the travel industry is a bonus
