Job Purpose

Scotiabank is a large international bank with financial services in over 55 countries worldwide. Global Identity Access Management (GIAM) is an enterprise-

wide service providing consistent authentication mechanisms to applications, ensures consistent enforcement of authentication policies, and goverance of logical access controls to bank systems.

The Manager of Buisness Analysis must be creative, a self-starter, results oriented and highly motivated individual with excellent analytical skills and the ability to apply this knowledge in the resolution of complex business problems.

Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and presentation) in order to effectively liaise with business users, internal development team and members of project team.

Solid business analysis or project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities within tight timeframes is required for this position.

To be successful, the individual must thrive on challenge, be proactive, eager to learn, and be attentive to detail. Working knowledge of Logical Access Control, Identity Provisioning is also an asset.

Key Accountabilities

1. Independently resolve complex, multifaceted issues to meet the business needs of our clients. This involves leading and / or participating in the :

  • Gathering of business and system requirements
  • Investigation and research into the current state and identified business issues
  • Contribute to design of solutions and future state processes to resolve identified business issues
  • Contribute to current and future state process work flow
  • 2. Lead or Participate in any / all stages of the project lifecycle including :

  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert for supported application within GIAM
  • Root cause analysis of incidents
  • Preparing detailed proposal documents
  • Reviewing and / or participating in the development and execution of test cases.
  • Managing pilots, proofs-of-concepts and staged implementation activities
  • Project implementation and post-implementation support
  • 3. Lead and / or participate in the development of communications required as a result of system implementations, including :

  • Creating / updating existing documentation (BRD, Process Document, Quick Reference Guide, Video Tutorial etc.)
  • Development of training material and training session
  • Provide recommendation on communication strategy
  • 4. Provide business support to various business partners as required :

  • Research on existing product to ensure we leverage out of the box solution
  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge relate to identity management
  • Address ad-hoc inquires and provide quick resolution
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operation efficiencies
  • 5. People Management :

  • Champions a high performance environment
  • Implements people strategy that attracts, retains, develop and motivates team by frosting an inclusive environment.
  • Functional Competencies

    The candidate must possess the following skills :

  • Excellent knowledge of Logical Access Control and Provisioning tool for Identity Access Management
  • Advanced knowledge of process methodology / mapping (modelling) and charting activity base workflow
  • Advanced knowledge of Bank's core systems and technology
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of standard MS Office Suite including MS Project and MS Visio tools
  • Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Competent to work on complex projects independently
  • Able to work within cross functional teams
  • Effective time management and organization skills
  • Experience with Bank new hire onboarding process
  • Experience with Bank support process.
  • Spanish language skills are an asset
  • The following skills would be an asset :

  • Knowledge of the ITIL service delivery methodology
  • Working knowledge of HPQC
  • Experience with Security principal
  • Education / Experience

    Post-Secondary degree / College Diploma / or related discipline or 5 10 years of equivalent work experience

    Security Designation is desired : CISA / CRISC / CISSP
