An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant to join this division of Uk's leading outsourcing organisation based in Darlington on a sic month fixed term contract.
Role title : Assistant Management Accountant
The Management Accountant role will report directly to the Finance Manager in charge of Digital Services, as well as supporting the CES Finance and Pricing Manager.
This role will be responsible for month end, accounting, accruals, controls and reports.
The Management Accountant will review and analyse information from the general ledger (and financial information provided by Transaction Processing) and performing adjustments as required.
The role will support in finalising financial information.
Work with the Business and execute the following responsibilities :
Perform general accounting support and month end for Digital Services and Sales.
Review and analyse information from the general ledger and other accounting records to ensure accuracy and completeness, and take corrective action, as appropriate
Perform month end reporting, including analysis of P&L entries to understand / calculate accruals and prepayments as necessary.
Ownership of inter-business recharges from Digital Services to split IT costs around the business
Tracking of marketing spend and ownership of associated tracker document to analyse spend, update forecast and manage accruals etc.
General Accounting support and month end
Axiom Forecast updates for Contracts to support FMs. This will involve working with Operations to understand what changes are required to provide an accurate and up to date Forecast.
Analysis of Payroll reconciliation files - to detect any overpayments / liaise with Ops / Payroll to amend pay.
Develop sound professional working relationships with colleagues, business staff and management, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business
PO creation as required by the business.
Desktop processing (e.g. sales commissions, overtime, cost centre moves, salary changes etc.) to support Finance Manager.
Includes logging desktop queries to support the business where necessary.In addition, the tracking of sales commissionsDealing with Supplier invoice queries and acting as bridge between Accounts payable and Supplier.
Running ad-hoc reports as required from SAP / Desktop and Axiom.Carries out any other reasonable duties commensurate with their capability
Prior and relevant experience as an accountant
Member of or studying towards being a member of a professional accounting body (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
Effectively communicate financial performance and impact to operational colleagues
Strong financial, analytical and communication skills
Comfortable with autonomous working
Degree or equivalent
Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines
Knowledge of Capita financial systems and general accounting procedures
Knowledge of current regulations including IFRS, UK GAAP an advantage
Good communication and influencing skills to Senior Manager level
Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
Excellent communication ability with people from a range of backgrounds and job types
Organizational and time-management skills
