The purpose of this role is to contribute to the planning, development, execution and overall management of the DAN compliance programme across our 20+ Brands in the UK & Ireland, as well as assessing and managing business risks and adoption of DAN policies and procedures.
The role reports to the UK&I General Counsel with a dotted line to the Regional Ethics & Compliance Director.
Overall responsibility for delivering compliance programme in UK&I
Assist with the roll out of global & regional compliance programme and implementation, including the tracking of specific projects and initiatives across multiple Brands within UK&I.
Promote compliance initiatives across UK&I, working with Regional Compliance and across other UK&I functions, as well as senior management, to identify, investigate and mitigate / resolve compliance issues, as appropriate.
Ability to perform risk assessments over multiple Brands, to understand the level, significance and scope of the various risks and consolidate this to provide a clear picture of the risk landscape within UK&I.
Promote a greater understanding of company compliance systems and procedures through a comprehensive training and awareness programme.
Support the Group & Regional Compliance in the roll out of Group policies and assist with policy training;
Monitor and advise Group & Regional Compliance if any policies and procedures do not meet Market legal, government or industry requirements, so that any suitable amends can be considered / implemented.
Provide feedback to Group & Regional Compliance on the local implementation of policies and procedures;
Suggest process and procedure improvements;
Share examples of Best Practice with Group & Regional Compliance, so this can be shared with other markets / clusters.
Conduct Compliance Training with management and / existing and new employees;
Monitor employees Conflict of interest declarations and approvals and escalate any incidents of non-compliance with the policy.;
Perform reputational due diligence prior acquiring any new Company, liaising with the UK&I Legal and M&A teams. Escalating any concerns to Regional Compliance
Lead the integration of newly acquired company from a compliance perspective and make sure we roll our best practice, policies and procedures and our compliance approaches;
Review Gifts & Hospitality submissions for UK&I. Escalating any concerns to Regional Compliance;
Lead the promotion of the Speak Up program for UK&I;
Lead risk & compliance committee meetings and assist with the documentation to be filled by management;
Lead on all compliance matters and assist with Internal audit for UK&I;
Undertake, support and report on investigations in line with DAN guidelines
Provide compliance guidance to local pitches.
Ability to manage a risk and compliance meeting with senior members of the business and maintain and retain a risk and compliance register
Demonstrable experience investigating compliance breaches and reporting on them
Experience in risk management and implementing and managing compliance programmes, including the creating and organising training, leading internal investigations, writing internal investigation reports and dealing with regulatory authorities
Experience of senior stakeholder management in a previous legal, risk or compliance role.
The ideal candidate could have 7+ years of risk, compliance or legal experience, preferable in advertising, media or technology or professional services company
Proven ability to interact with people at all levels of an organisation, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork and results
Articulate, pragmatic, commercially minded, analytical and solutions-focused, with exceptional drive and enthusiasm.
Good analytical skills, capable of thinking logically, using initiative and systematically able to resolve problems.
Proactive, self-supportive and motivated in the development of a positive risk culture
The ideal candidate is likely to be educated to degree standard and be a holder of a relevant professional compliance qualification
