TrainsPeople currently has a vacancy for a Track Safety Trainer based at our West Horndon Training Centre. In addition to delivering training at West Horndon the successful candidate will be expected to travel to other TrainsPeople sites when required and also to deliver at customer sites.

Reporting to the Centre Manager and working closely with the other trainers across the business, this is an exciting and varied role that requires a positive and enthusiastic team player.

Required Qualifications and Skills :

  • Experienced Track Safety Trainer
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent at administration, time management and planning
  • The ability to work alone and unsupervised, or as part of a team
  • Industry Experience
  • To be a positive addition to the team of existing trainers Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Train and assesses in accordance with Sentinel Rules and Network Rail Business / Company / Line Standards / Specification / and RSSB Railway Group standards
  • Deliver training courses, both in the classroom and on worksites as appropriate to the subject being taught to current Railway Group Standards
  • Co-ordinate with clients / candidates
  • Carry out assessments both in the classroom and on worksites as appropriate to the subject
  • Prepare all materials for training and assessments
  • Work within the budget of TrainsPeople
  • Notify Sentinel who have reached the necessary Standards of Competence; complete Sentinel paperwork
  • Ensure all objectives for assessments set by both Network Rail and TrainsPeople are met Key Responsibilities :
  • To ensure that Health and Safety requirements are met and all policies and procedures are adhered to
  • To ensure all materials & resources are correct so that the delivery of training is high quality and a safe learning experience is provided to all candidates
  • To deliver technical training courses appropriate to their skills and experience
  • Promote growth across the business and establish new clients
  • Deliver training and assessment events within the agreed timescales and to the required standard.
  • Develop and maintain training materials when required ensuring currency, accuracy and relevance
  • Ensure day to day administration is maintained according to procedure
  • Maintain the personal and professional performance standards set down by the Company for each stage of the training delivery process
  • Undertake personal development as required to meet changing business needs, including any training necessary to assist in delivery of training within scope of skills & experience All staff are responsible for :
  • Taking reasonable care for the Health & Safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their actions or omissions at work.
  • Co-operating with the Company or other persons so far as necessary to enable the Company or other persons to comply with their legal duties.
  • Identifying their training / skills needs in relation to their job and bringing these to the attention of their line manager.
